B2L - thank you so much for that - was just trying to figure out whether I needed to post more before PM'able.

I did join in 2009, and I've been vaping since then. But I have my own forums in the indoor vegetable gardening arena, and this forum is a bit overwhelming. So - I stuck to my knitting.

Off to find where to make 3 more posts without mindless spam...

I'd be interested in helping too, from both a "fairly new vaper" and "asthmatic" perspective. I'm finding that while it must surely be better for my lungs than smoking, and not so much of that gross coughing up to do, VG is really not kind at all to asthmatic lungs, and I think that really needs to be addressed. I've been tapering back my PG usage, due to swollen feet/ankles, now vaping at about 67%PG/33%VG, and this morning, I woke, went to the bathroom, and almost before I could get back to the bed (where my inhaler was, beside the bed) I just literally almost could not breathe at all, and when I went to use the inhaler, it was hard just to get the inhaled medicine inside, on the first puff. It's got to be the VG, because when I was vaping 85% PG, I didn't have this problem at all.

Today, of course, I'm trying to go as lightly as I can possibly manage on vaping, because that really scared me, almost not being able to inhale my medicine, and I think I'm going to have to go back to a higher PG percentage.

Awesome, AndriaD - thank you!

That sounds scary with the inhaler. I hope that's calming down for you.

I make my own eliquids, and seem to settle around 10-20% VG. Love the sweetness, love the vapor. But if I try to vape too-high VG, it annoys my sinuses, and I cough more and feel like I'm coming down with a cold.

Yes, once I did get the medicine in, it settled pretty quickly, and I was able to go back to sleep for a while (it was real early, about 7:30am - I normally get up about 11ish). When I did wake later, it wasn't so bad, and I was able to use my inhaler as I normally would.

I think what I'm probably going to need to do is increase back to at least 75%-80% PG, and also increase my nic level, so I don't vape so often, which should help both the asthma and the PG-dehydration that's causing the swollen feet/ankles. So I'll have to keep my PV on the other side of the room, instead of right here on the desk. :D Not as inconvenient as having to run outdoors to smoke, but I do need to make it less conveneient, and episodic, instead of this constant puffing.
