It's finals time, and I have almost 50 pages to write of papers, etc.

I need more audio crack music to work (and vape) by.
(How great is it that I don't have to go outside anymore to smoke? yay. sorry, I had to mention it.)

Recommend some good music for working all-nighters, please!

....Oh, to give you an idea of what I like, my favorite spins when I'm working are usually some kind of dark/driving electronic stuff. Good rhythm is a plus.
My favorite group is probably Prodigy. I also listen to the Matrix soundtracks and David Lynch's Lost Highway soundtrack while working. Also into brighter stuff like Afro Celt Soundsystem, deeper rhythms like Kodo Drummers, funky electronica like Thievery Corporation, and darker stuff like Velvet Acid Christ or Wumpscut.
(I have 23 GB of mp3s from all genres, so actually I tend to like a lot of things....)

for a bit o' dark:
Robert Rich & B. Lustmord
Stalker
01 Elemental Trigger
02 Synergistic Perceptions
03 Hidden Refuge
04 Delusion Fields
05 Omnipresent Boundary
06 Undulating Terrain
07 A Point of No Return

for a bit o' light:
Various Artists
Bliss
01 Fault Lines - Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
02 Zaar - Peter Gabriel
03 Svetasvatara Upanisad
04 Chinese Canon
05 Angel Tech - The Grid
06 Kothbiro - Ayub Ogada
07 Mekong - Jam Nation
08 Orovela - Tsinandali Choir
09 Excerpt from Abonecronedrone - Sheila Chandra
10 Inion - Afro Celt Sound System
11 Think [Edit] - Michael Brook, U. Srinivas
12 Soldiers of the Long March - Guo Brothers & Shung Tian
13 Abha - Iarla Ó Lionáird

for a bit o' pure thinking:
Brian Eno
Neroli
01 Neroli [all one track]

All three of these would probably be considered ambient, which is what I find to be good for reading, writing, and especially thinking and working.

Hmmm...

For pure, teutonic joy... Megaherz! Nobody does hardcore, techno-industrial any better than the germans... trust me! The guttural, Deutsche tongue was MADE for industrial music. If you can find it, get the album Kopschuss (it's a pic of an evil clown pointing a gun straight at you... sideways, gangsta style). It may be the best industrial I've ever heard...

And I suppose if you listen to german bands, you may as well check out some Rammstein... one of their tunes is used in Lost Highway, methinks... and they are featured in the beginning of the Vin Diesel movie Triple X, as well...

I've also been grooving on Powerman 5000's Mega!! Kung Fu Radio. It's kind of odd-sounding, but it cranks!

Good luck, stay awake and write write write! Man, am I glad those days are behind me... when you get older, you really only need to be literate enough to write a shopping list and fill out some forms... yah, that's about it...

well it just so happens that im a dj. so heres some driving electronic straight from chicago. Some might call it hard tech-house, but its more categorized as fidget/wobble. If anything is gonna keep you up, i would hope it would be this :D

you can download all the mixes off that link

heres my latest recording from a party (actually a rave) I played at a few weeks ago. I must warn you THERE ARE EXPLICIT SAMPLES. I would go so far as to call it X-rated. You have been warned!

Cant wait to hear the feedback LOL

I'm just going to throw some stuff out there you can check it out if you'd like or not.

Band: Earth, cd: The Bees Made Honey In The Lions Skull
for sound samples Lala - Where music plays

Band: Pelican, cd: Ephermal
for sound samples Lala - Where music plays

They're both all instrumental so if words get you out of the work your doing, which it does to me sometimes, these are great for working, homework or job work. I love the band Earth but this is probably the easiest listening of their cds and with Bill Frisell (who is also an instrumental musician, I've only heard one or two songs of his with singing on it and they're not him, when I saw him live it was him a stand up bass and a drummer) on guitar on a couple tracks it's awesome. If you don't know who Bill Frisell is check the wiki Bill Frisell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and if you want to hear some of his stuff check out Lala - Where music plays

Not sure if any of this will be anything you want but maybe it will help others looking for this type of music. Love all 3 of these that I've mentioned for working and for just relaxing so figured I'd pass it on. Enjoy.... hopefully.

Edit: Just starting to realize you're more into the techno kind of music... none of this is that style so most likely nothing you'll be into but you never know, if you're into trying new music don't be scared of this hahah.

I wrote all my papers this quarter to Arms and Sleepers and The American Dollar or at theamericandollar.info. My fave of the two is TAD.

This is avantgard, ambient, electronic and rock. If you decide to purchase anything from TAD, do so through their main site. You can buy four albums for 20, or two for 10.
