I had been having issues with dry hits and bad/burnt taste with my iClear 30 for awhile. After reading up it seemed other had the same problems but it was hit and miss... some people tossed it in the garbage and others loved it.
I took the top cap off to fill it one day and also removed the silicone piece to take a peek inside. After replacing the silicone piece I asked myself, "Am I screwing the metal top down so tight that it's pushing the silicone piece down hard enough to pinch the wicks and cut off flow?"
Pessimistic that I was inviting leaking, I screwed the metal top on snug, but "barely snug."
Like a miracle from above, I haven't had any issues whatsoever since I started doing this! I'm interested to know if anyone with these iClear 30 issues has tried this and had any success. This solution seems to make sense as I'm sure everyone tightens the metal cap with varying levels of force, supporting the seemingly intermittent issues.
Thanks.
