I picked it up at a Bm near me
Problem was the person knew less than me and that's not much
I am returning it and headed to see someone more knowledgeable

I read about sanding the firing pin and understand that vaping involves tinkering, but just got turned off with this model

Not only hot, but scalding!
I Googled it and it mentioned sanding
I'm returning it and getting something else

Well, it's not that common but that doesn't matter if you got one that does it. You don't have to sand anything, just clean the contact surfaces. I've never sanded any of mine, I just clean them monthly and all has been well for getting close to a year.

I also have a Kamry K100 and a Nemesis clone from FT. Of the two the K100 has seen the most use and has been bullet proof. The Nemesis is a nicer looking mod IMO, but I'm finding it can be a bit finicky.

Good luck with it :thumb:

well, looking now to buy mech mod as well, most likely it will be Nemesis.

Mech mod like more options(lower coils) and might be smaller.

out of curiosity, how often mech mod users use kick(s) ?

I don't know how many mech mod users use kicks, but if you're thinking about it, I suggest you look at the difference it makes to your vape experience and try to decide which you would prefer.
