Hi there, i really haven't used this forum in quite a while, but i am starting to run out of the supplies that i massively ordered over a year ago. i only have a couple atomizers left, and 4 or 5 batteries, but nonetheless, it is time to restock.

But, when i went to re-order, i discovered that there are many many new models and brands of e-cigs available now, so i was wondering if some people could recommend some to me.

I'm guessing that the technology and methods for these things have improved over time, but the only models that i'm familiar with are the DSE-901 and DSE-801 (and the associated RN models)

I dislike manual batteries, and i dislike the larger models such as the 801. I don't neccesarily cheap out on these things, but this is one aspect of the 901 that i enjoy; as i plan to order 3-400 dollars worth of equipment at a time for bulk pricing. battery life isn't neccesarily a deal breaker for me though; so long as a battery can surmount to 3-4 hours of vape time; at minimum 2.

I usually either use DIY liquid, or the cheapo liquids from china.

Hopefully this is enough info for a recomendation; is there some e-cig that all of the 901 users switched to? when i first started vaping back in febuary of 09, most everyone on this forum recommended the 901 as a first e-cig, and i really enjoyed that model; and continued to use it until now, but change is good.

My only real complaint about the 901 is that the atomizers clog up in under a week or two unless i clean them regularly; and if there is a newer model that solves this problem, that would probably be the one that i go with. I still used these clogged up atomizers after a thorough cleaning with boiling water and ever clear, but still, the less cleaning i do, the happier i will be.

Thanks for the help,

-Philo

A Riva 901, you can use the same atomizers that you are use to or if you can't get your hands on one of those then an eGo/Riva 510 with a 510 to 901 fitting. The plus about the 901 is that the low resistance 901 atty is very nice. You will struggle getting an auto ego/riva although I know they do eGo auto's. Auto's tend to crap out a bit more.

Atomizers haven't really come on that much since 09, not as much as say batteries have. Even then, the battery tech has always been there.

Well, i tend to only order from heaven-gifts; i have a good relationship with the owner, and i have been giving out business cards for him in exchange for a discount on his site, but i'll look into the riva 901. thanks for the help.

HG are good, wayne is a pleasure to deal with. The 905 is OK, they made it a bit too..breakable, with all the electronics in it but if you get a stable one, they are pretty neat. Problem is as well, you are getting further and further away from the standard 901 look, if you thought the pregnant riva was too big then the 905 will be like vaping a, well, screwdriver...that's a point, you can pick up cheap SD's these days.

I can only say that I went for the 901 first, then moved to 510, then to 801, then found myself back time and time again with the 901. The 801 lasted about 2 months for me, the 510s about a month and a half, but I'm on the same 901 I opened up 4 months ago.. I do not clean it, other than blowing it out every 3 to 4 weeks, and it is not quite as strong as it was 4 months ago... but it does the job and it does it well. The battery is a protege mod from 8 months ago, as I like a solid manual battery, but my wife loves her standard auto 901 batteries and as much as I want to find a better model... I'm sold on the 901 atty with whatever you want to charge it. Just my two cents.

I would've recommended the Riva or Ego except that you don't like manual batts and it is considerably larger in girth than a 901. Reminds me of a short medium diameter cigar. Love my Riva though, 6+ hours of non stop heavy vaping. You might consider one as a backup for when you go on trips and such. For some real batt hang time get a couple 1000mah ego batts which are compatable with the riva i do believe (correct me if i'm wrong here people).

Hey Philo,

Well you've got more time under your belt than me. And the 901 is a fine vaping rig.

You might give the new Joyetech Cartomizers a try. Matching the flavor of 901 is going to be a little difficult I think. You've already been to 510 land... so I wouldn't recommend that.

I have a mix and match setup here...

I started out with 2 DSE901 automatic kits, added a couple of KR8 manual batteries (higher capacity), and for my PT I use a 510 Sit & Go with a 510 to 901 adapter.

I keep looking at all the other models and think I might order one just to have something different, but the 901 atomizer is working so good (the 2 I rotate have lasted over 6 months) that I just can't bring myself to order anything else.

I am going to get a 510 DISPOSABLE E-CIG KIT for $10 from MadVapes with my next order just to see how it does, though.
