I am fairly new to vaping, started about 6 months ago right before new years. I bought a cheep starter kit then upgraded the tank to a I clear 16 dual coil and it worked for a bit but the cheep battery i had could not push them correctly and i did not understand why... now i do. Last week I decided to go for it and bought a ego c twist battery X2 and a kanger protank 3. So far I am astounded at the difference. The heads(coils) could last longer but a simple soak in cheep vodka I learned can bring a little life back. Also found out I was running too many volts to it. Also making lifetime of the head shorter. I have made many mistakes and wasted some cash and probly will continue too do so. All worth it in the end I am down too 1 cig a day sometimes none.

Hello and welcome!

Sounds as though you're are doing alright in the wasted money category. Many here have wasted more in their first 6 months.

I know that I wasted some money at first and probably will in the future. It's worth making a few mistakes to stay off tobacco.

I don't think its wasted - its a journey you have to go through.

When I now try the vaping setups I was using a year ago they seem terrible to me - but at the time they seemed great. There have been 3 or 4 milestones along the way where I've moved up to a better setup and been amazed at the improvement. However if someone had offered me my current setup back then I probably wouldn't have been up for the size and hassle of them.

Maybe in a years time I'll be carrying around a heavy backpack crammed with batteries - or only able to vape where there is an AC socket .

Lol have looked in to doing some rebuilding of coils as well. Hard to cheaply come across the right stuff in the netherlands. When I get back to the states it is going to happen I think it mite become a new hobby (which is good for me right now, going through some wicked traumatic crap). The more I read about it and learn the more interested I am in it. It has also brought out some OCD as far as cleaning is concerned hahaha.

Sounds like you are doing well with your set up. You moved along faster than a lot of us in the beginning. Sorry you are going through some traumatic crap. Life can sure be rough sometimes. Stay strong.

I think you're right, reddal, it's a journey. Taking the first step is the hardest part, and most of us, after that, have taken small steps along the way to where we are now. And no matter what you're using for hardware, being off cigs is the goal. You certainly don't need to start at the top end of $$, and although you may eventually be there, everything else is then a backup for it, so still not wasted.

Backups are important. You don't ever want to find yourself looking for a cig because your one and only device - battery or topper or charger - is out of service!

Yes. This had happened to me. I always carry a 10 ml bottle of juice a spare battery and a ego t atomizer just incase. All fits in a small carrying case good to go. When my I clear failed on me while out of the house first thing I did was get some tobacco. First and last slip.

Yup, only takes once

My usual "out and about" is one of my 18650 tube mods with a fresh battery and full topper, AND a fully charged 1300 Spinner and full topper. Different flavors, as well, so I have backup and taste change on hand. (Hey, even though it's now just that little donut, our cars still have a spare tire...)
