Semi-Newbie BIG PROBLEMS! subject-CLEAROMIZER

Okay. We've not smoked a real cigarette in about 8 months. It's been a long hard road and we'd thought we'd figured out all the problems but no... of course not.. right?

After fighting for weeks with a local vender because he sold us everything our kits, our juice our extra batteries, (but he NEVER had any clearomizers, atomizers, juice etc in stock, and after 4 weeks without a new clear/atomizers we were fed UP, and when you make your own juice but won't make what a customer wants just because you want to push the products that don't sell that's WRONG!) we finally decided to take our business elsewhere.. however their is no "elsewhere" in any town close to us.

So, to the internet we went. We found myfreedomsmokes.com after reading several great reviews on here and other forums. We had the small little ego-t (short fat, i think they are called 510s? 650vlt? the local vender was definately not an educator lol.) anyway we needed clearomizers for these batteries. The first batch we bought from our "new found website" was a 4 pack of "Vision eGo Clearomizer - V3 (Long Wicks, aka CE4 or Stardust)" which we'd been using from the local vendor. (the local ones were exactly the same except they had only 2 strings, the ones from this website had 6 strings) They worked AMAZINGLY, but only on 1 battery. lol. The post at the bottom of the clearomizers didn't "reach" the connector on the top of the battery. So we ordered new batteries from the same website (the ego-c twist) and at this time we ordered the exact same listing the "Vision eGo Clearomizer - V3 (Long Wicks, aka CE4 or Stardust)" only he now only sold them in a single or a 5 pack but after dealing with a vendor who never had product in stock we wanted the buffer extra 5 pack while we had the money to burn.

The batteries we got were AMAZING as well, the new batteries and the 4 pack of clearomizers (the originals, in navyblue-ish) were a match made in literal smoking heaven! However with 2 people that was pretty much done after a couple weeks (we have the money to afford a clearomizer a week, and we won't smoke nasty or burnt things if we don't have to so a week work of great vape and to the recyle bin is good enough of to be a "great" product for us.) HOWEVER, When we started using the second batch of clearomizers (the 5 pack in the color "clear") The first day we put them on, they started getting a gurgly popping sound, and then gross juice in the mouth when we took a drag. you could tip it over and shake the tip towards a paper towel and juice would come out the mouth piece. It would work for a few more drags but be full of juice again. We then realized it was "filling" the top part of the battery completely with juice. (this was within hours of using it.) So, i replaced that one with another one to see if it was a fluke, since my husbands wasn't leaking...(yet)... the next one i put on vaped great for a day, my husband came home from work IRATE, because his had started doing what mine did first thing that morning at his job. Later that night my second one started doing it as well. By then we realized that the original 4 pack we got and this 5 pack were NOT the same!

I took Pictures:

(one of those links should show you the picture.)

I sent then a message with a new order on November 12th 2012 saying that the last batch we ordered on October 25th leaked please send us the product we originally ordered on October 12 (the 4 pack) or let us know and we won't place an order. They of course did NOT say anything, and sent us yet ANOTHER 5 pack of the leaking horrible ones. that's 40$ wasted on garbage, but that's not the bad part. We are smoking burnt up nasty original 4 pack blue ones until we get a solution. (of course our local vendor is now going out of business and STILL doesn't have any product... i'm not shocked). So we have minimal options, *i* would never go back to real cigarettes but my husband is about to the breaking point, and its harder and harder to walk him off the ledge if we don't find a WORKING CONSISTANTLY good product. If they are selling these things under the name "stardust, or CE4 or V2 or just Vision Clearomizer" how are we to know what we are getting?...

They are OBVIOUSLY not the same. The new ones (5 pack clear) even feel lighter and cheaper! Another thing to note is on the bottom of the clearomizer where the "two prong post" is on the old ones that prong is "flush" with the "inner ring" on the new ones it sticks out, making the "battery connection better" but maybe causing the leaking to be worse. My husband did tap one of them up in their and made it flush, and it worked for about 2 days before it started leaking again, so i'm at a loss? I'm currently in a battle via email/phone calls to get someone from the website to return my calls and deal with the problem. 99% of the "reviews" for the product (since the 4 pack originals and the 5 pack new ones are under the exact same name) give the product a 4-5 star and i feel so band for newbies who order this product/and worse for the people who've been trusting the product to get it and have our experience. (of course our "review" hasn't shown up on their page.) I'm doing this half to see if their is any modifications we can do to them to make them work right while we wait for a solution, and the other reason is to warn people who've yet to have to order new clearomizers that they have changed them ONCE again, and if you get this leaking problem you will be MISERABLE. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank yoU!

FYI that is a bit long of an explanation for those of use with ADD. Leaks in the clearos come in two kinds. The cap not being put on tight and improper filling. You need to use a syringe or a needle tip bottle. If you don't have these then tilt the clearo at an angle and on the down side put you bottle tip strait up no angle then slowly drip in the juice if you don't do this then you are pouring juice in that center hole and it will come out of the bottom. Looking at you pic you cap is not on tight it needs to press against the silicone top of the atty making a good seal. Oh almost fogot. How to Fill a Vision eGo Clearomizer (aka CE4+ or Stardust Clearomizer) - YouTube in this they are not holding the bottle of juice correctly I find that strait up and down works best. Also go slow.

The problem isn't "filling" because we filled the original 4 pack the exact same way we fill these new ones and that's by tilting them squeezing the juice in slowly and then cleaning off where the inner white seal is before putting our mouth piece back on tightly and securely. The photo was after i'd "dumpped" the liquid out so you could see the lines and inside, i didn't screw the lid down on it by accident but when it was filled with liquid their is no gap, i could take another photo to show that if necassary, but trust me their isn't one. It is screwed down as far as it will go when it is intended for vaping. Thanks, but that isn't the issue. (the weird thing is that we thought that at first, so we cleaned them perfectly and never tilted then in any direction while smoking (just strait up and down) and let them sit on the table strait up and down for about after 20 minutes of sitting there, They still leak.

The one on the left matches the genuine Vision ego's I have and they don't have a leaking problem. The one on the right looks like a copy and I've been told some copies aren't reliable.

It also looks like the one on the right has a slight gap between the drip tip and the silicon cover of the post, which could cause the leak. If you pull up the silicon cover by the metal pin using needlenose pliers you might get a better result, at least temporarily. on the other hand that might cause your wick to flood - so trial and error is all I can suggest. Good luck!

These little puppies are cheap and mass produced. I think that's the point. Some leak, some don't; there are ways around that, but ultimately, if it still leaks, throw it away. How much is a pack of cigarettes in Alabama? http://www.smokerevolt.com/ce4s

The local guy charged $8 bucks a clearomizer (but of course we didn't know any better back then, and his products always worked so it wasn't that big-a deal, until he stopped getting stuff in stock)

Online the 5 pack is $18.95 +$5.00 shipping =$24.00

If i threw them away every time i leaked i'd have just thrown $24 bucks in the garbage in 2 days (since me and my husband use them) We might as well smoke cigarettes at that price which are only $3.99 a pack here, we did this mainly to save money, and secondly for health lol.

Besides the point isn't if it's $8.99 or $2.99 each.. if i have to wait a WEEK to get it in the mail. AND IT DOESN"T WORK not even for that single day... i'm not getting nicotine! I'd gladly pay more for them if i they actually worked! but i'm not tossing $2.99 or $8.99 in the trash after 2 drags, and a mouth full of juice *sigh*... is this as good as it gets?

Yeah the gap was because i didn't put the lid on tight for the "photo op" lol.. it can be screwed down to have no gap (which we did when we used it for vaping) however it didn't fix the issue.. its hard to see in the photo, but the blue one's inner silicon cover actually smushes down the "thread/string holes" and on the clear one the threads are more loose and the hole is exposed fully. We tried to push the silicon cover down further on one of them because we thought the strings were pulling to much juice inside causing the leak, but then our lid would not touch the silicon cover without a gap... so still a leak obviously. *sigh*..thank you though, where do you order your "genuine vision egos, me we can just buy them from their?, my worry is that all places will be replacing the good ones with these crappy ones, but selling them under the same name. :(

Like I said, they are mass produced. I got some "Sunrises" from ECBlend that are Stardust clones (Stardusts are CE4s made by Vision but branded by gotvapes) and they actually worked better.

Here's what I do with my clearos. 1) Don't fill them up all the way. Keep the liquid well below the silicone cap; 2) After filling, twist a small piece of paper towel and slip it down the center hole from the top to absorb extra liquid.; 3) Put another twist of paper towel up through the bottom hole (this is actually more important than going down the top hole). Do this until the paper comes out dry; 4) When vaping, and especially if the clearos has been sitting for awhile, tip/twist it to keep the wicks wet. 5) If it starts to leak during use, take it off and repeat step 3. That tends to only occur if it's been tipped too much.

ETA: I'm going to order some of the ones from Smoke Revolt that I linked to. Vision or not, I think the quality is about the same.

ETA again: When taking off the drip tip, hold onto the top silver ring. I have had several of them come off when twisting off the tip. You can still use them though, either by just putting them back on (which I do) or gluing them.

The vision clearomizer is the real deal and made them famous, the ce2's i think. If you really like the clearo style may i suggest another stellar product vision makes?
MINI Vision Vivi Nova Tank System - Plastic Tube

it is called the mini vivi nova. (they make a bigger one also) it is approx same size as the clearo's but almost never leaks, and almost always works. The best part about the nova tank is it can be taken apart and cleaned, the tip inside that vaporizes the juice can be replaced, for about 2 bucks, and there is also a few tricks to keep them (the heads) cleaned as well. some people when cleaning the heads get 1 or more months out of them.
this product is almost identical to the clearos and just plain works, a little more per unit cost but since you do not throw them out its cheaper in the long run. If you do decide to try this but do not order from the link I posted make sure where ever you go says "vision vivinova" and I will promise you will like this product.

We could also suggest the Kanger T2 for 4.50 and replacement heads for 1.00. Electronic Cigarettes, Vaping Supplies, and Tasty Juice - Vaping Me
myfreedomsmoke is now on Visionecigars list, they weren't earlier, so,
To me, it looks like that one on the right might not be put together correctly. Ive taken them apart enough and sometimes i dont get it back together right. The center post was out to far. Have these been taken apart?

These are cleanable. Take off the silicone thingy with the pip, rinse in warm water, let dry at least overnight. Then attach the clearo to your batt at a low voltage, 3.5ish and do 3 second "burns" (pressing the manual button on the battery) until the coil glows red, the STOP. Replace the silicone and pip, fill and vape. I have clearos going on 5 months.

I would also recommend checking out the Vivi Novas, the Kanger T2/T3 and the CE3's. They are the newest kids on the block and work extremely well.

Sorry that you're having problems. Alot of it is quality control, and just plain bad manufacturing.

Personally I'd ditch the clearomizers ViVis, et al.

I haven't had anything but fiddly fuss with the likes of that type thing, and same goes with my husband's experience...and also that of a vaping buddy's.

But that is just our experience. We all prefer cartomizers and/or cartotanks. (shrugs) Different people like different things. But I can say that it's extremely RARE I ever have any problems with the system I use. Hubby and our friend seem to agree on that with me.

Bottom line she should get 5 pack of what the original clearo was since that was her 1st experience provided by the vender online. If he's calling the 5 pack the same name with no explanations he is misrepresenting SOME thing and is accountable. There is no excuse and if the customer doesn't want to fiddle with something that isn't working like the original purchase from same vendor she shouldn't have to. Don't let vendors do this to you. Don't confuse the issue by providing excuses for cheap products. Her first experience was good. The second batch in a 5 pack is not PLUS they are not the same and the vendor did not let her know. The vender is assuming it is user error because there actually is a lot of that that happens. Stick to your guns, go smoke some stinkies, you'll hate them and get your money back. Find a vendor who will work with you and start over. You can also drip nicotine in to your mouth and slosh and spit or rub it on places on your body. No you shouldn't have to. This problem is not your faults but your addiction is so do what you need to do. I'm 100percent behind you. You are 100 percent right and the vendor is lazy and not needing every extra piece of business or new faithful customers. That's his right too really. Glad to know about them I had the impression they were good and actually have a decent size order in at this time. Last time for me though. There are plenty of vendors out there. I hate when they ignore a complaint. Now you know to get verification on everything you order from now on DUE TO THE NATURE of this very confused industry at this point in time. Unforgivable.
