Sentinel V3 issue with button lock

I have a sentinel V3 bottom firing mech mod. it screws in/ screws out to become flush with the button to keep it locked so that I am supposed to be able to stand it upright.

The issue is this.... about a week ago (for some weird reason) when I screw it out to be flush (locked) it doesn't stop spinning, it just free spins, and when I set it down, it will engage firing due to the loosness of the lock.

is there a way to fix this? anyone else ever seen something like it? don't know if this is common or something I'll just have to deal with.

I've heard of a similar problem with another mod, can't remember which one now. The problem was resolved by tightening a screw inside the battery cap. I don't know if this will work with the sentinel because I've never seen one.
