Separating Screen From sx 350 Board?

Does anybody know if separating the screen from the SX350 board is possible?? If so how can I go about doing this and what is it going to take?
Im building a wooden box with a top screen right behind the 510 and the board is to long to fit on top of the box with the 510 so I'm having to retro fit the board into the box I know flask did it with the dna 40(i just don't know how they did it) so my hope is it can be done just the same with the sx350

I took a quick look at the board and separating the display from the board is "impossible" since there isnt a way to reattach it to the boards connectors ( standard soldering tecniques wont allow for a ribbon cable to be used)
