Hi guys and Happy New year!
this is my first post but I'm a long time lurker and vaper since May 2014. Due to the forum rules I am obligated to post this here instead of the relevant sub-forum.
After a long wait due to limited availability in Europe I got my hands on a 60W SX350 board and I finished my dream mod just in time for the New Year's eve celebration: a 75x58x22mm (as in: can't really get any smaller than this) dual 18650 box mod in a flask type battery bank enclosure.
The original idea is from the 'Jax' mod by Mamu (you can search the ECF forums for it - I can't post a link).
Apart from using a SX350 board instead of the dna, I went a few steps ahead of that by cutting the enclosure down to ~74mm, used a Varitube 22mm spring loaded 510 connector, separated the board compartment from the batteries using two plastic pieces cut from a ...phone card
, engraved my nickname (Gaijin) using a dremel and customized the firmware accordingly.
For those interested in the materials used, the enclosure is the same one as the Jax (FT: products/1702204)
Battery contacts salvaged from this: (FT: products/1290208)
Cost: 3.5EUR
SX350 from Modmaker.co.uk: 65EUR
Varitube 510 from Stealthvape.co.uk 6.5EUR
Dual Efest 35A 2500MAh 22EUR
Total cost: 96 + cables, epoxy putty, solder etc. = ~100 EUR
Not too bad for a mod with the same form factor but smaller and yet more powerful than the VaporFlask, if I may say so
