SERIOUS need of opinon

SO I just built a quad coil at 6 wraps around a 3/32 drill bit. 1.0 ohms each came out to .25

Using a sony vtc4 30 amp battery.. Weird thing is when I stop firing and set it down it's still vaping like it's still really hot.

This was happening for at least a minute after wards and I took out my battery and it was still doing it. Not Like a full fire kinda vape but like lingering off the coils.... Is there something I should be worried about?/???

Can't say why but apparently you had a short and if you let it keep going for a minute, it must've been super hot, so when you took the battery out, it was still vaporizing juice. Though it's a little hard to believe there would be any left on the coil...

What gauge wire, how much wick, what topper, how many/what size air holes? I assume it's a dripper? That is a lot of wire, if you think about it, holding a lot of heat in.

Was the deck/cap hot?
Was the battery itself hot?
If not, (battery) you probably do not have a short. I know that well saturated cotton with a decent SLR coil, can hold a decent amount of heat in, enough that I have had my 2 -inch drip tip get really hot at the tip, even though I wasn't even chain vaping.

It's most likely not a short. With a .25 ohm build you are generating lots of heat. The coils take a bit to cool down and the residual heat from the coils is continuing to vaporize juice after you release the fire button.

I've had that before with a hot leg. (and what Trent ↑ said). A section of wire is heating without the energy going into making steam. After you vape, it's hotter than a coil would usually be (in just that area), and the juice redistributes towards it in the wick . . . . "aftersteaming"

I get that with some of my more serious coils also. It is residual heat. The clapton coil takes a whole 3 seconds to cool down after letting off the button. Just give shorter button burst to help compensate.

I think I must've been tired last night, still tired this morning, lol... Probably best to listen to the more experienced guys ^^^^^
