Hello all.
I just started vaping recently and haven't had a Marlboro light since before Christmas.
Lurked on here for a bit while still smoking and tried a few different set ups including Smokeless Image volts, an MVP with protank and my latest Istick with nautilus mini. All of these were purchased from research done on this awesome forum. Picked juices from Nicoticket including Frenilla, Wakonda, ACB and CLS at 6mg.

So here is my question. Is my Istick/Nauti mini just not the right set up for these juices? The Wakonda tastes fabulous but the others don't taste that good. I am letting them steep now for a few weeks and they don't seem to be improving any, which makes me think my equipment may be wrong.
I have tried all different watts and air settings to no avail.
Want to place another order of different flavors, but want to be sure I am not wasting my time with the wrong gear for this juice.

Thanks in advance for any replies, and sorry for the long read

Hi, jns!

I'm not really familiar with your equipment, but some of our regulars are guru's at this stuff and I'm sure they'll be around in a bit to help you. The frenilla and CLS I steep for at least 6 weeks, if not longer. But that's my preference. I think ACB and Wakonda are good right out of the box.

I know someone will be around to help you. But welcome to the Nicoticket forum!

Take care,
Dani

Frenilla, CLS, and ACB are "deep steepers". They need a while to age and mature. Many people like the fresh out of the mailbox, but I like them with a month or two on them. They only get better.

I tend to "burp" the bottle once or twice a day for the firat week, then put them in my drawer and forget about them. I always have a vape ready bottle in the rotation so I don't have to wait. Take cap off, let new air in, close and shake vigorously.

Heya! Welcome to the NuThouse! We've tested all the liquid on the istick/nautilus mini combo... For what it's worth, that's become Katy's go to piece of kit and she vapes nothing but Nicoticket for the most part. One tip or trick I have found is that you really have to prime the nautilus wicks well... Even unto putting a couple drops of liquid directly on the coils before you fire them... Once they are fried, they are done and need to be replaced. Another best practice is to give it a few primer puffs and let it sit for a few minutes before you hit it. always shake your liquid before you dispense it. Hrmmmm, what else... It's not totally out of the realm of possibility that one or more liquids don't hit, statistically it's unlikely... But... If you like Wakonda, it's not in the base... Searching here.

I am unable to help you on your gear, but I'd like to congratulate you on not having a cigarette since before Christmas. Keep up the good work. :toast:

Congrats on your quit and welcome to the NuThouse jnslprd!
I use isticks and Nautilus minis almost exclusively now and all my favorites are Nicoticket juices. Kent's advice is spot on "perfect" . The only thing I would add is to start with your volts/watts very low and work your way up. The isticks run hotter than they read out. Once those BVC coils are even the least bit burnt, nothing will taste right until you toss the coil (and sometimes the whole tank of juice) and start over. However long you THINK you need to let the coil soak up the juice, DOUBLE IT. I would add, don't hit it hard/frequently for the first 2 ML. , either. Depending on your juice, the sweetness can also be a factor in gunking up your coils more quickly. Dark juices also do in a coil faster. The BVC coils taste terrible once they start to gunk up and you can't truly clean them. You might want to test out some other tanks, the GSAir, GS16s and some of the other eleaf tanks made to go with the isticks. I've got both, but they are new to me, so I'm not sure about them, yet. I'm definitely NOT in love with the whole coil thing, in general, and specifically the expensive ones! I will be looking into the Lemo Drop, Eleaf Melo, and a few others. Right now, anything you DON'T like will have a new improved version in a month or two. For example, just with the isticks, there are three new ones since the original came out this fall. (The mini, 30W and 50W in addition to the original 20W.) Newer models have made some improvements to not run so hot. Here is a link to a very LONG thread about the isticks: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/601111-eleaf-istick.html
And here is a link to the fixes and faults blogged by one user: E-Cigarette Forum - aldenf - Blogs
Take a look at eleafworld.com for more info.
Hope that helps a little bit!

Thanks all for the lightning fast replies everyone. I will forget about my bottles for a while and let them steep, in the meantime I need some juice. What are a some NT flavors that don't need a long steep?
I also agree on the bvc coils, I do let them soak excessively and prime them as I have experienced the burnt taste. Also what watts do you guys use on the Nautilus minis, it does run a lot hotter than my mvp.

I so want a Subtank or an Atlantis, wife will beat me.

I was using my MVP with a ProTank. I was disappointed with the ProTank. It didn't work for me for flavor or vaper. It sits unloved in a drawer somewhere.

But I love my MVP.
I've ditched my mPT2's, a K1, Unitanks etc. Currently, with mostly an iStick, I'm using the standard Kanger MOW, the mega MOW and the mini Nautilus.
They work very well for me, and the only small problem I've had is a very small amount of leak at the air holes of the mega MOW, but that's all. The standard MOW and mini Nautilus both work perfectly.

I have a mini Genitank and a mini Aerotank, but haven't tried them yet. I want to try the GS16 when the coils arrive in stock here to go with the tanks.

I only use the Nautilus minis and they always have a slightly funny taste to them for the first 1-2 ml until the coil gets broken in. I usually let them sit for an hour or so when they are new so they can saturate real well. I am using 1.8 ohm BVC and I run it at 4.4 volts a few taste better at around 4.2 but for me 4.4 seems to be the spot that I like. I usually get a few weeks out of a coil at least but I only vape around 2-3 mls a day.

Everything to the tee, 4.4 puts me at 9.5 watts which tastes good. I am still a light vaper and consume about the same amount daily.

Here's a weird one for ya. I also have a Nautilus mini with the aluminum sleeve and this tank just doesn't work as well as the standard glass tank as far as flavor and durability. This tank wants to burn the coils at the same settings and juices. only difference is the removable top. Can't find any info on this.

Another thing that was told to me in the beginning about the istick and I actually learned the hard way is to start low on the watts and increase them slowly until you get to your sweet spot. I hope this helps! And to add to what everyone else has said, I love the fruit flavors in my nautilus mini on the istick. The Virus is another that tastes great with this equipment.

I would go with Grandma's Cinnamon Danish....

To me it is excellent fresh, stupendous in two weeks, unbelievable in a month, etc, etc...
