I wouldn't worry about it Dean - you didnt establish a smoking habit isnide a week I'm sure, it takes some people longer to cut it back. Or giv eit up. Maybe you don't want to give it up completely inside your head yet - and that's fine - you gotta take this at YOUR pace not anyone else's. If it takes you a month to give up (IF that's what you want) then it takes a month. There's no rush, right? It's not a competition.
Do waht feel right for YOU. Its great to read about other people's successes but they aren't YOU, never forget that. Whatever is happening in their lives isn't happening in yours, we are all different, with different circumstances and pressures.
I had never planned to quit smoking, it wasn't even in my 'game plan' - all I wanted was to get rid of all the cigs I didn't enjoy, and keep the ones I liked.
It didn't turn out that way - oddly I began to enjoy vaping a whole lot more and the cigs tasted worse n worse, until I was almost forcing myself to have one. So I stopped.
Quitting smoking was a sort of unexpected side effect of vaping, and I can't say I miss it at all.
I wasn't measuring my progress against other people and neither should you - drop your quitting expectations and you may find everything comes a whole lot easier :)

My plan for getting ecigs was the same as captjay said to get rid of the ones i didnt like. I maybe enjoyd only 2-3 cigs a day but smoked a pack a day.
I've been vaping for a year now (kissbox and dura) but neither one really helped, actually i was only increasing my nicotine intake with them. But after getting ego with long lasting battery and good TH i have actually cut it back to 3 cigs a day and most days even none. And im happy with the results as i didnt have intention to quit but now it seems i might even succeed but im even ok with 1-2 cigs a day.

Point is you should find right device for u and take it gradually and you shouldnt beat up on you when u have cheating day.
For me real cigs just feels dirty now and when smoking them i even dont know why im doing them. Just for old times sake i guess.

I'm even worse with the setback. But the right liquid and equipment is a big help. I love my 510 but it eats batteries. I have 3 of them rotating them, but I think the charger is misbehaving, luckily I have my daughters charger til I make an order next week. My 401PT sucks, my 510 PT battery died. I had my hubby bypass it and I'm good to go. I had my share of smokes today, but I leave them in the car so I have to think about it. I'm still working on finding the right taste. I like the carmel, but that's not really a replacement. The USA mix tastes ok, but it still doesn't hit the spot. I'm sure I'll find something.

i agree the right pv is a must. the first weeksof my journey i had the rip from a mall then luck struck and from amazon i got the dse601 e pipe and paid through the nose for it,plus it'a pipe and i'm female. it is my only go to in the mornings nothing else works for me and like everyone i went nuts trying stuff. i smoked when i ran out of product because of newness . stress knocked for a while now i'm back and even with the new stuff sill me and my pipe. the 510 i play with and like, the k808 rally like but nothhig move over the pipe and that is how personal these pv's are ...just my opinion

I can top that...he smokes Parliaments....eeesh! But I was smoking Pall Mall Orange, so who(m) am I to judge?
Thanks, Richie- yes, I'd say you know me well enough by now, as I plagued you many times a day for the first 2 weeks...
I have four new flavors coming in within the next week.

I'll be the first to say....I've purchased a pack of pall mall orange...and they aren't as crappy as the RYO pack I bought...I love Parliaments..my girl smokes those...when she wasn't smoking my Marlboro Lights...DOH...even worse...at the bar now..I give my smokes away like I don't smoke...good choice... :)

I was tested tonight. Was around a bunch of analog smokers and pulled out my SD. Just before that someone offered me an analog and I hesitated. Thankfully had the SD on me. Much prefer vaping to analog and I knew I would get that ashtray taste and sick to my stomach initial reaction that happens when you haven't smoked for a while. Usually would take me at least 5-10 analogs to enjoy it again.

But won't be doing that. Vaping is so much better.:p

Capt Jay...TOTALLY agreed. I've been working on quitting since October of last year and I'm down to a couple a day and less than a pack a weekend from 2+ packs a day. Just don't give up...the hardest cigs...i gave them up already...the others will go when they are ready. I've been smoking for 22 years out of the 33 I've been alive. No stressing myself over quitting...I don't quit well that way and I know because I've tried. I'm not a clock watcher anymore and if that's not progress I don't know what that is. :) good luck DEAN IN SJ :)

Simply a speedbump man.

Remember that vaping is an alternative to smoking and no one here is gonna think any less of you for sparking a few up.

Over time, you may find the idea of an analogue less desirable. That's the payoff. If you wean yourself to 0 nic someday or totally off vaping, then you can say that you have quit smoking.

Until that day for me, I can honestly say that I have stopped smoking but not quit. If these things become unavailable I'm afraid that I may have no other alternative than to return to burning tobacco to get my daily dose of nicotine.

I know that the view up there may be good but come on down off of that cross and leave it for someone that deserves it. (A few elected officials and a certain Federal agency come to mind)

Just my $.02

Redoubling my efforts based on all this encouragement!
I have four new flavors on the way, small trial quantities except the Parliament flavor (a concession to my Parliament smoking partner).
I'm mostly hanging on for our second 510 kit and pass through- checking the delivery status every few seconds. Should be here in a few hours.
Also sue today, the afore-mentioned Parliament plus grape and watermelon.
On the way from Ms. T: Teaberry and peach as well as a bottle buddy.
And then I am DONE spending money. Will need attys soon but there's no more $$ to spend and I don't have/use credit cards.
So, I'm reading the forum all day, hanging in and doing my best.
Thanks again!
Dean
Addendum- Everything arrived, excellent service from Cignot and Mike and Carol's. Happily vaping 26 mg. grape on my new PT. I'm in good shape!
