idk about that tank kit either, I dont use any of that. I dremal a cut into one side of the cartomizer and that works perfect. should just need that tank, a pack of cartomizers and a driptip.

priming them can be fun, what I did was fill my tank maybe half way, then slowly sucked in. after a few of those I dripped a few into the top of the cartomizer onto the filling and I let it sit for about a hr so the inside was fully saturated. then enjoy :)

it could come in handy for you to experiement with how many holes you like and for what juices. But for my tank I use those boges (only cartos I have tried). they come with two holes punched in it already, but I cut a slit into one of those holes to open it up a little more. Im sure more people will chim in and give you better info, so dont go and start buying stuff just yet :) im still new to this stuff and im sure more experienced guys could give you some better tips. I just fallowed youtube videos

Look into the slap yo mama tool for filling. Its nice for protecting the orings that seal the carto. Lots of cartoon choices, I have a stock of regular boge cartos I punch. Smok makes decent precut cartos. Comes to preference after experience. Preunched would be your best bet.

Sent from my mind while out and about.

@ xLogan.

I couldn't tell which length of Phiniac tank you ordered, or were interested in. The length of tank you order (standard or XL) will determine what cartomizer you use:

standard length tank (35mm cartomizers) - Boge and Ikenvape.

XL length tank (45mm cartomizers) - Boge XL, Ikenvape mega, Smoktech (single or dual coil).

If you click the link below my avatar, you will be able to access my blog articles which has several articles on cartomizers and cartotanks. I'll be happy to answer any additional questions that you may have.

Side note: I have the Phiniac tank that you linked to in your first post here. If you click on my profile and then look at my photogallery you can view this and my other tanks. (I'm at work at the moment and don't have access to direct link easily)

Thanks, Kamil99. Phiniac has a tool like the Slap yo Mama tool but for much cheaper, so I'll just pick up that. Thank you for the cartomizer suggestions.

Baditude, it was the standard one. Do you like Boge or Ikenvape better? I'll check out your blog later today when I get off work... and it's awesome we will have the same tank. I like yours - is that in amber color? Thank you!!!

Have you looked at these? https://www.ibtanked.com/complete-tanks/stainless-steel-setup/19mm-xl-tank-detail

They are not has fancy as the Piniacs but they are a lot cheaper and very durable! This Kit comes with everything you need to start with including the filling tool. Then if you decide that you like carto tanks you can always upgrade.

These are the cartos I use. With the xl tank you have to use xl cartomizers.

I have never used cartos from Ikenvape, but I have heard nothing but good things about them. It seems like most that have tried them like them better, but they are kinda hard to get. They are always out of stock so you need to be put on an email list to get them. I am on that list and waiting patiently.

In the mean time I think you should get some Boge cartos. You can get a 5 pack unpunched for about $5.50 or $7 (free shipping) for punched at surevapes.

I have both the Phiniac tool and the Slap Yo Mama tool. Let me say that I strongly prefer the SYM tool over the Phiniac. It's hard to explain why without having used both of them. Let me just say that the design of the SYM tool is a much better and functional one than the Phiniac (which is actually made by Siam Mods). The SYM is well worth spending the few more dollars for; take my word for it.

I've only used Boges on a few occassions; I wasn't particularly impressed, however this was last summer at the beginning of "Bogegate" when Boge went through a long period of quality control issues. Ikenvape is mine and in many vapors' opinion to be THE premiere premium carto that is way better than Boge or Smoktech. If you could imagine an American-made carto, this would be it. Isaac at Ikenvape has a China manufacturerer (?Boge?) make these to his specific standards and specifications. This company will only make so many of these for him, so he is unable to meet the demand for them - hense the frequent out-of-stock notices. But I assure you, they are well worth getting them.

The Phiniac tube I have is a clear XL tube with an orange sandblasted design. (There's green-colored e-liquid in the tank.) I was able to determine that it's dimensions were perfect to fit the caps from the Elegance tanks at Hoosier Vapes.

I can also vouch for the IBTanks. :thumb: They are my favorite tanks; I currently own twelve of them (seven 19mm and five 22mm). I personally feel that their quality is just as good as the Phiniacs, at half the cost.

Surevapes has a filler tool that is much like the slap yo mama, but doubles as a drip tip. It works pretty well, but I prefer the tank tool I got from Valley View Vapes. It has a smaller diameter making it a *little* easier to use. The drip tip tool does work as advertised though.

Too bad Valley View Vapes is MIA right now (the owner is having medical problems). Their tool is cheaper and they have fantastic (and less expensive) tanks. Better than what IBTanked has to offer in the 25mm range IMHO.

So, clearomizers have pushed me to the edge! I am now going to well... pretty much set up my own tank/cartomizer...

Is this all I would need?

1. This tank: Sandblasted Tank - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks
2. Tank kit: Phiniac Tank Kit - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks
...Along with, of course, a tip, and lastly,
4. BUT... What cartomizer?!

And it would all work, right? Am I missing anything? Any suggestions? I'm a bit loss. I hope those cartomizers will fit that tank.

If you are trying a tank for the first time, I would suggest this:

https://www.ibtanked.com/complete-tanks/stainless-steel-setup

You get everything you need for a lot less money. And it's pyrex, too. If you like tanks, then go for the Phiniac.

I've been looking at the IBTanked series myself. What sets the phiniac apart from IBTanked or any other tank for that matter? I currently have the Smoke DCT Pyrex tank and a protank but still looking for "it". Aren't all carto tanks essentially the same and its just a matter of the cartomizer that makes them different?

Phiniacs are some of the "slickest" looking tubes out there with their "frosted/textured/sandblasted" designs. From videos I've seen, they're amongst the thickest as well, and apparently fit snug as all hell. I don't own one personally, but hear nothing but great things about them.

However, I do own an IB. It's absolutely solid on all fronts. Steel caps, thick heat treated glass, and no slipping whatsoever. They're more than half the price of a Phiniac, and 1/3 of the price of a Phiniac with metal caps.

You really can't go wrong with either from most accounts. It's just IB is a landslide as far as value for price is concerned, and Phiniac is amongst the "prettiest" things you could possibly put on your PV. If I felt like spending on something for looks, and didn't mind spending more money for that, I wouldn't hesitate ordering a Phiniac. But if your looking for a plain clear glass tank, or even a colored one, I don't see a reason to order a Phiniac over an IB.

For the most part yes. Some use glass and some plastic. Some have metal end caps and some delren. Some glue the end caps on (which is a terrible idea), but most use orings. A carto tank is just a juice resivuar for a carto to feed on. They will all perform exactly the same. The only meaningfull differences I have notice between cheap plastic and glass tanks are of course the cracking of tanks do to some e-liquids and plastic tanks seem to impart a plastic flavor to my liquids. Other than that a tank is a tank is a tank.
