Well I'm waiting on my 6th e-cig brand to arrive, V4L, due any day now. It's all menthols, and all different ones including a sampler pack. In the past I've tried mostly menthols, but also Clove, Vanilla and Lemon.

I've found I'll try something new, vape the heck out of it for 3 packs of cartos, then be over it and go back to my musty tasting Elusion menthols. Smoking wasn't like this. I smoked Alpine almost exclusively, though did go with a cheaper brand for a few years.

As I read through the forum I see people who are trying new flavours or juices all the time.
And I have to wonder, is this just a fact of vaping, or do most people settle down to a flavour & strength they like and stick with it for years like people do with cigarettes?

I think it depends on the person, mostly. I'm kind of a food nerd, so I enjoy mixing up different flavors and trying new ones all the time! I often find myself altering flavors based on how I feel that day by adding a few different drops (usually vanilla) to an existing carto. What's nice is that I think I found the PG/VG blend that works for me and the nicotine level I need right now, so that takes out a lot of my guessing.

EDIT: However, I did just get a bottle of Tasty Vapor's Banana Nut Bread and right now it is the greatest thing ever. I have been vaping it continuously since I picked it up, but I wouldn't call it the end of my search. Keep in mind that I would also swap around and try different cigs all the time, too!

Most people tend to go through stages where they only want tobacco or menthol flavors, then their taste buds come back and all of their juices taste nasty, and then they may or may not find other flavors they like.

At the 2.5 month mark, I've found several flavors I really liked only to tire of them after a week or two. This usually happens right after I jump in and buy a 60ml bottle of the juice

Hi Katz, as you are aware in Oz we can't buy nic juice so a lot of us buy a supply of unflavoured high nic juice overseas and then mix it with flavours and doublers from local Oz suppliers to refill the cartos.

One question, are you currently buying prefilled cartos or are you refilling the one's you've already got? Refilling is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying prefilled cartos.

Your tastes will change. When I started I wanted nothing other than tobacco flavours but I haven't vaped tobacco for several months now. Today is a Peach Champagne that I mixed up and yesterday was a blend of watermelon and rockmelon. Go figure.

I switch up a bit myself. I have a vape I love in the mornings--it's a sweet but really strong 555; gets me going on the way to work. For the bulk of the day, i switch gears. Since I'm trying to cut back on sodas, I vape a flavor that's really close to mountain dew--my favorite drink--during the day. Then I also like a dessert vape after meals, so that's where I play with the fruity flavors or liqueur flavors like absinthe. And before bed, it's a strong, less-sweet tobacco flavor. Kind of like a cigar.

I'm new at this also, 3 weeks in and thought I settled on a favorite tobacco flavor. This morning was the first time we went out for breakfast, I put alot of pepper on my eggs. On the way home I hit the e-cig and it tasted horrible! I will always carry a carto with menthol or cherry for such cases. A few hours later all was well again with my tobacco flavor.

Darn taste buds must be starting to work again! Things are changing as I go.

I have found a few flavors that I really like but I continue to buy more because half the fun of vaping for me is trying new flavors. I've been vaping for about 60 days now and have almost 50 bottles of juices on last count yet I continue to buy more. I tell myself that if there is a ban and I can't get more then I'll use the juices that I have on hand to wean myself off of ecigs so that I won't have to quit cold turkey.

When I started with e-cigs I ordered nothing but sampler packs to try out as many flavors and varieties as I could. Honestly, I have enjoyed almost everything I've tried (very rarely do I vape something new and go "ew"). But as you try more and more flavors, certain ones will stick out as go-to and all day vapes. Either caramel, mango, red cow, or smilin' special menthol are in my cart whenever I order from V4L. But it's always fun to throw in a new flavor because who knows, it could be a gem!

And good luck with V4L! That has been my brand since I made the switch and I love it! I'm sure you will too!

For me, as I went along trying lots of juices, I found flavors that really click with me - first it was Turkish blend tobaccos in the beginning when I could only feel satisfied vaping tobaccos. Then I became attracted more and more to the flavors I mixed into tobaccos for interest - vanillas, chocolate, cocoa, caramel (as a sweet caramel tobacco oRYental 4). Now that I can feel satisfied without vaping tobaccos I mostly vape my favorites I have found of those mixers. I still try juices (sample sizes when I can get them) and this weekend I actually found 2 more to add to my stable of regular juices - Void Mist Cherry Blossom (which just earned a pretty pink carto of its own) and Juicy Vapor's Butter Rum Caramel (which will also get a carto). But my most-of-the-time vapes are Backwoods Brew Vanilla Bean on my Vapor4Life and Vapor4Life WOWbacco (a very very dark chocolate tobacco which I vape for the strong chocolate) in my 510's carto. BTW their WOWboy is the same as WOWbacco but with a bit of mint added. So I am mostly still in my triple faves of vanilla, chocolate, caramel with the fruit for a sweeter lighter break.

Taste is subjective and as you get off cigarettes, your taste will change. It took me about 9 months to nail down my regular 'lineup' and another couple months to stop sampling :) But... I had already sampled so many up to that point I pretty much knew what to expect. Still there are a few surprises here and there and it what makes it all interesting. I settled for DIY using Decadent Vapour flavors from totally wicked. The nic base there is one of the cleanest, imo.

I'm just on pre-filled cartos right now. Part of me still wants to be able to go to the supermarket & buy a pack of menthols, not mess about with filling/re-filling. Maybe that'll change. So yeah, don't have to worry about the juice, but do have to pay the $$ for o/s shipping and wait 2-3 weeks for delivery.

No worries, if you decide to switch from the prefilled send me a PM and I'll give you a few links to follow. My high nic juice usually on takes 5-10 days to get here and the local mixers only a couple of days.

Anyway, in the meantime you may want to think about upping the mg from 4. It'll help the cravings.

Good Luck.

I'll 2nd that about the DV flavors - they are tops - especially the 2 coffees.

I started vaping 4 months ago and have kept my eyes on the classified forum Classifieds and swaps so that I could try different flavors from multiple suppliers. I've finally narrowed down to about 5 favorites and have also slowed down on looking for more.

Perhaps some find that one/two flavors suit them, however, I change to a new flavor daily during a week period. Although I don't mind eating and drinking some of the same foods/beverages every day-I find that my tastes are not the same with vaping.

I agree , it depends on the person. I started with pre-filled carts and after about three weeks wanted to try the eliquids. I now have over 110 bottles and can't find a favorite yet. So now I am moving into mixing my own. It's not just vapeing like smoking was smoking for me ... it's my hobby. It's very social also, we have our vape nights and try different flavors and see whats out there.
