Hey everyone, my name is Jason, and I just hit seven days without an analog cigarette as I type this. I've been lurking around the forums for a few weeks trying to get the courage up to make the leap, and because of the amount of information and positivity within this space, that leap was a little easier, so thank you.

Currently I have 2 Ego Twists, 2 Vivi Novas, some Boge and IKV Fusion cartos, and 2 SS Pyrex VPX Cartomators which came in the mail yesterday (Vaperfexion was awesome to deal with). The VPX Cartomator with a Fusion carto has been my favorite combo so far. I'm looking to pick up some atomizers to start dripping, and I just joined a group buy for a sigelei mech mod and a vv module. Too soon? Maybe, but I'm a try hard type who loves to tinker.

As far as dripping goes, should I start with regular atomizers or go bridgeless? I'm a quick learner, so ease of use is not the priority, flavor and vapor is preferred. Feel free to let me know what has or hasn't worked for you.

Anyways, thanks again!

Jason! Congrats on quitting! Isn't it great? I've been smoke free for 2 years! You will love your new "hobby"! I can't answer the bridgeless question because I just bought one and haven't used it yet. Because I'm rocking my VAMO mod which I love with a boge carto tank. Oh and I'm waiting for my pyrex Kanger protank! I have dripped on a regular atty and the flavor is great but the new devices out now are just as good imho and dripping is sorta a pain. I just use it now for testing flavors. The new CE type cleromizers are pretty darn good and don't leek like they used to and for me are just as good as dripping. It sounds like you are ready to roll so no I don't think it's too soon. I think you should go for it. Sounds like you're the type of person who can pick up on it all pretty quickly. I don't know where you live but with the threats of our right to vape coming down fast and furious I would stock up on some supplies if you plan to stick with vaping. A good mechanical mod is a great idea because they can't ban batteries and not much can go wrong with it. And while you are stocking up, please consider joining CASSA as they fight for our rights. shameless plug I know. :) link in my siggy. Happy Vaping and welcome to the club!!

Hey Jason. I am also named Jason. I, however am not 7 days into e-cigs. I have heard of them before, even had a run-in or two with people vaping, but that was about it. Until 5 days ago when a co-worker (non-smoker who was constantly on my case) gave me a disposable one and pretty much forced me to try it. I liked it. A LOT. I mean I'm no dummy and knew a pack a day habit was slowly killing me, but I was addicted. I never REALLY tried to quit, maybe claimed to once or twice when I couldn't afford 6 or 7 bucks for a pack. Anyways. I went through that first disposable pretty quick, like 8 hours. I picked another at the gas station near my house for $9. This seemed expensive. I thought $9 every 8 hours vs $6 a day. So I talked to a friend about it and he told me about Blu kits you could buy at Walgreens. That became my next stop. I picked up a kit with a two part design you could recharge and replace. Wow did I think these were awesome. All this was before I decided to research e-cigs for their health risks/benefits.
So when I did I became absolutely amazed. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I became almost overwhelmed. I quickly learned that the majority opinion is e-cigs can't possibly be as bad as tobacco smoking. But it was the ways to vape(?) that blew my mind. This is why I'm here.
Where should I go from here. I've read that vaping(?) is supposed to be cheaper, but I ask how when all I see are starter kits costing $40 to $100+. Then I see hi-tech devices with crazy pieces and parts that I don't understand (yet) costing way more. E-liquid, clearomizers, etc.
Anyways help me!?

THe upfront cost can be high. But remember with the right starter kit all you will be paying for long term is juice and cartomizers or clearomizers. If you don't go nuts with the fancy gear it will cost very little compared to a pack a day habit.

Thanks everyone, it does feel awesome. Seeing so many with so many more days free from analogs is really encouraging and honestly reassuring.

@Skypea - I think I signed up at the CASSA website a few days. I gave my email and contact info. Does that make me a member or is there something else I need to do?

@NotoriousJDP - I hate to speak out of hand since I'm new to vaping, and have a ton to learn. I'm sure the more experienced vapers can give you some better words of wisdom. But try this link Beginner | Guide To Vaping, I'm not saying this is the end all be all guide, but it solved some of my basic beginner equipment questions. And of course, browse this forum and read as much as you can. Reddit also has a decent thread with recommended beginner setups here: http://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/16ftev/

I'm definitely happy with my ego twist kit. My kit came with 2 ego twist batteries (1000mah), a wall charger designed for the ego batteries, 2 clearomizers, and a little travel case. I bought some juice from Mt Baker Vapor, cause I heard they were relatively cheap and they shipped fast (they are and they do), plus they are located near Seattle and I'm in Portland so I can get juice in two days.

I'll say that, taking out the initial investment to buy the kit, I have more than halved my daily spending on analogs. And, if I wouldn't have purchased some other gear, my daily savings would payback the initial investment in just a month.

Congrats bro, just hitting over a month myself, little bit of a learning curve for me as I did the starter kit then discovered the world of ejuice, initial cost may seem high for some items but I figured I was spending $240 a month on Newports at 9 bucks a pack, so anything comparable that wasnt killing me seemed like a good deal, guess it depends on the effort you want to invest, heard great things about the ego's, seem pretty easy, I myself switched from disposable cartridges right to the Lavatube 2 and havent looked back, takes some research to find whats best for you but this is the place to get it, best of luck

Good job on quitting. When I hang around other people that smoke I realize how much those things stink and that I stunk like that. Wow, I must have been miserable to be around. My signature says that I have been smoke free for 31 days and that I have avoided 930 cigarettes. 930 cigarettes in one month is an insane amount of cigarettes to ingest. I averaged about a pack and a half a day of Marlboro Red 100's. I used to be at three packs a day for a while. I don't even want to do the calculation on what that would have been per month. When you get more post counts go to this link ECF Signature Banner Generator and do your own banner. It's a good way to help with your new found freedom and to help you realize how much you were smoking and reliant on those things. It definitely help me realize what I was doing to myself and others around me. Best of luck to you.
