Several Questions from a Newbie...

I own 3 510's that I bought in a kit from Innovapor along with a bunch of other stuff like a PCC.....I have some of their ECO Pure liquid which is, I believe, VG. I just bought some RY4, 555, and Peach liquid from Rocky Mountain Vapor. Both of those transactions were great, BTW....

I have modified all my all my carts with straw mod along with those lipton triangle tea bag thingy's.....sheesh that was work! Anyhow, my question is this: I have seen posts that talk about people using straight glycerin and such. Do they use this when mixing their own juice or what? All my juices are pre-mixed, shouldn't I just use them that way or should I be doing something else? I have also found it useful in addition to the cart being full to drop a couple of drops on the atomizer too, but was just wondering about the bottles of glycerin people talk about.

Also, doesn't this seem like a lot of work? I'm a gadget freak, but sometimes all this modifying seems a bit much....so much easier to pull an analog out and light it.....

Thoughts??

Most of those who use glycerin are using unflavored nic juice mixed with concentrated flavorings from Lorann's or Capella's (or other similar brands). It's cheaper to buy the highest possible strength of unflavored and then dilute it with PG than to buy the nic juice at the lower levels since it costs the same no matter what the level of nicotine in it is.

Some people also add a few drops of glycerin to their pre-mixed juice to get a fuller vapor (PG gives a good throat hit but not as good a vapor as VG), this is not something you have to do, it's just a matter of preference.

As for the modifications to the carts not everyone does them, I only do mine when the pre-stuffed batting wears down. Then I do all of them that are worn down at once (I won't do any till at least ten are worn down). It's definitely easier to light up an analog, but it's not as fun, and a lot of us are happy not to need them anymore.

I tried the Pyramid tea bag filler with the fold and it would dry out too much. The shredder sounds like too much work esp. for cleaning - and I'm satisfied with how the filler works with the straw mod anyway. I only did it to see what the fuss was about. And it did work but not any better than my set up, but not any worse - iow, I could fill as much with the PTB as I could with polyfil. But after just a few days the PTB got stiffer than a board. I think it was just sitting in the juice.... but it did wick some. I may try it without the fold but not shredded.

I returned to regular cart filler with the straw mod which works fine for me. The filler will get a bit tough after over a month even cleaning it each week with vodka/everclear. But newer fillers with the straw mod will take anywhere from 6-10 drops sometimes more on a top off. I'll put 4 in the cart, two on the atty and then another 4-6 on the filler. I don't drip VG on the atty but some do. Sometimes I'll put a drop or two of Ecopure Rich (or Fresh depending on the PG flavor) on the filler for more vapor.

When I do DIY juice I'll do a 3 or 4:1 ratio PG to VG to add vapor power. I'll also use VG to dampen strong tobacco or menthol flavors. PG Coconut is good for that too.

I tried the PTB in many different variations, but they'd leak if I laid down my PV, and when I pre-filled my carts they'd leak too. I'm going to get some polyfill to re-stuff my carts prob pretty soon cause I only have 5-6 fresh empties left.

The only reason I haven't looked into exactly what filler to get is that I switched over to all flat tips so I have all those round tip blanks and prefilled around yet to rob. I scanned the fluval posts but I'll be looking at the actual polyfil stuff too.

All (line 30 some carts) but a 5 of mine are flat tips, I prefer them because if I try to hold the round ones between my teeth, my canines pierce a hole in them. Kinda screws with the functionality lol. I use my round tips every once in awhile, but flat tips really are much sturdier.

I like to mix some ecopure rich in with whatever I'm vaping ...being vg it adds tons of vapor but it also enhances the taste of whatever juice I'm vaping.

Same here Talen although I don't mess much with the TC - not that I haven't tried rich but I'm more likely to go with 'fresh - unflavored' on TC if anything.

I never did bite the round tips but I sometimes will grab on of those to test a flavor with a new cart. Then if good, I yank the filler and put it in the flat tip :)

I just use blank cartridges with the factory polyfill.
I tried the straw mod but it is too much effort for me.

I may try the Pyramid Tea Bags some day, but only when I feel the need to.
I mean, we have some right here in the house, right now.

My wife has Japanese Cherry and African Sunrise that I bought her for Christmas.
She is probably going to wait until winter to have any more tea though.

Right now I just use the "thermometer method" which is also know as the "windmill method".
I can suck a 510 cartridge dry without ever getting a flavorless drag or a dry atomizer.

So I guess I'm plenty happy right now with what I'm doing, and not having to do any of the futzing.
And since I HATE any form of futzing, I'll probably stay right where I am for quite awhile

Check back with me in the winter though.
:D
