Severe burnt tastes from e-smart clearos

Just got my order for the e-smart clearos. Filled one and vaped away. Loved it. Once it got bout half way empty I refilled it. Now all of a sudden I am getting a really bad burnt or chemical taste. It is so bad it actually burns the back of my throat. Tried a second one and have filled it a few times but not getting the same thing. Any idea what could be causing this and is the clearo pretty much shot???

Some of the esmarts I've used seem to get gunked up pretty easy (especially with higher VG juice) . I have had some luck with dry burning them. I also have a bunch and rotate them a lot. If I vape for a long time with the same one, sometimes they tend to taste burnt. But for some reason, letting them "rest" seems to help.

If I vape for a long time with the same one, sometimes they tend to taste burnt. But for some reason, letting them "rest" seems to help.

I wouldn't even so much describe this as a burnt taste. It is more like a melting plastic kind of taste. Almost like breathing in the fumes from melting wires. It is so harsh it burns my throat and makes me almost gag. This was only the second or third fill and I am using 70PG/30VG liquids. The second one I tried is on it's third fill and still working fine. Dunno if it is a fluke or a sign of things to come. I really like these because they are the perfect size and give great vapor and flavor. But I am not gonna stock up if this is going to be the norm.

As I have stated in a few other threads I am using V2 Liquimax that I bought a month ago. use them constantly and they have been cleaned many times and refilled with various liquids with no decline on vapor or flavor. I was kinda hoping for the same or similar results from the e-smarts.

Just a little follow-up. I tried cleaning the offending e-smart clearo and tried a different liquid. The first puff or two is fine. After that it gets progressively worse and the same plastic toxic taste comes back stronger with each subsequent puff. I have been using a second one for several fills and it hasn't done this yet. It just went through a cleaning for a new juice so dunno what the results will be. Could this first one just be a bad one????
