Hey guys. I stopped smoking cigs about a week ago. I smoked a pack a day so I went with a 24mg Nic juice to try and kick the habit. It's rough but still haven't smoked in a week. My question is, my hands have been shaky and I feel kinda weak. Could my nicotine level be too strong. If so what do I step down to?

It could be too much nicotine. Your instinct to start with 24mg was good it's what a lotta people are successful with. You could try 18mg or even 12. If the 12 is too low and you seem to have a lot if cravings you could mix it with the 24.

Congrats on not smoking too! It will get easier and you're already doing so well =)

You can get yourself a bottle of glycerine and dilute the 24 mg to any strength you like, but the more you dilute the more flavor will decrease. You can pick it up at any pharmacy or drug store.

I'd dilute it by the tank rather than dilute the whole bottle. 50/50 would give you 12 mg, 2/3 juice and 1/3 glycerine would give you 16 mg finished product.

For the short term, only use it as your body needs it. Also remember Vaping is different. You will get the Nicotine but the delivery is a little slower. Don't overload yourself.

I smoked 1.5-2 PAD for over 45 yrs. and cut cold turkey to vaping at 18mg. Cig-a-likes did little and left me craving most of the time, but I resisted. I quickly advanced to a more productive setup and found the 18mg was more than enough. (Ego Batteries and Ce5 Clearomizers)
Now using higher end batteries/mods/Kayfuns, I'm down to 6mg.

And sometimes even pack a day smokers have a hard time with higher levels, if they went outdoors to smoke, but vape indoors, which means they can vape constantly. I smoked a pack a day for about 3-5 yrs before quitting, and before that, a lot more, but when I first tried 18mg when I first started vaping, it made me sick as a dog. 12mg did too; I had to go all the way down to 6mg to get rid of the nausea, and then go back up to 8 or 9 mg once I'd actually quit smoking. Still can't do more than 10mg for more than an hour, or get nauseated again. Usually I stick with 9mg for daytime, 6-7 mg at night.

Shaking hands is most definitely a sign of too much. Stomach pains/nausea would be, too. Basically if it makes you dizzy to vape it, it's more than you're used to, and has a strong potential of making you nauseous in a pretty short amount of time.

I started out on 24 also, but only needed that for a week and got over nic'd as well. I was a PAD full flavor cigarette smoker.

Get some 18 or 16 if you can find it, that should be good for a while, and if you get cravings then get out some of the 24. I think 12 might be too low at this point, but YMMV.

Hell, your my Hero!

OP, are you drinking enough liquids? Vaping in the beginning dehydrated me and cause unsteady hands.

My wife was out of town when she decided to switch to vaping. She smoked lights, about PAD, sometimes a little less. The B&M she went to gave her 3%! It is no wonder she wasn't impressed and went back to cigs. She gets home tonight, so we will be heading to a local B&M (where the owner is smarter and ready wants to help you quit) Monday morning to pick up some new juice. Meanwhile, she will be switching to some of my stuff!!

Hey there. Congrats on being a quitter. I think you would be able to tell if you were getting to much nic because you would feel really sickly. It has only been a week and there are a lot of nasty chemicals working there way out right now if you think about it. Maybe that is what is causing the shaking. Or if you are anxious. I am not much help to you with the reason but I hope it goes away and you keep on vaping. Someone who knows more than me will help you but I just wanted to say that I think it is great and good luck to you. Thank you for posting this questions because we may both learn something. Happy vaping. :)

From everything I've read, I only know one thing for sure, we are all very unique individuals.:D The nicotine requirements vary from person to person, and do not always correspond to the amount you smoked or the length of time you smoked.

Vaping really is a design-your-own program type of thing, for sure. I hope you try some of the good suggestions and find a solution to your shaky hands.

I do remember my hands were a little shaky the first week, but I don't think it had anything to do with nicotine levels. I was so wanting vaping to work for me, and I desperately wanted to do everything just right. Which was very difficult, since I didn't have a clue what I was doing.:D I think my anxiety was all about doing something entirely foreign and different.

I was afraid I would put too much juice in the clearomizer. I was also afraid I wouldn't put enough juice in the clearomizer.

I was afraid I wouldn't tighten things up enough. I was also afraid I would get them too tight and break something.

You get the idea.....:) In a few days I settled down and all was well, and has been ever since.

 Then I ended up here, and realized that I really was doing things wrong, rotating five cigalikes on chargers, trying to always have one charged and ready to go!!
