Well I'm going to post this because I love all of you and I think any one of you would be a valued member of my, shall we call it, other community.
The husband and I run a MUD. It's a text based RPG game. You can read more about MUD's in general, Here

Soon I will have to design a website for it. It's had so many in the past that I've lost track and just want to start new. The player base is nil right now. It has been down for months and we've just got it back up five minutes ago. We still have to do promotional work and inform other players that it is back online.
I know (or at least hope) that none of you will think I am silly for this game meaning so much to me. It's no different than PIF meaning so much to me. I started playing this game when I was 10 years old.
People came and people went, but much like PIF, the important ones hung around. And since my parents were so abusive and neglective, nebusive, we'll call it... These people more than raised me.
The game passed to my hands when I turned 20. I have to say that I have not been the best administrator. We originally were hosting it via online hosting sites but the MUD is so large, and the code so complex, that we had to upgrade to extra CPU and RAM usage and end up paying 30$ a month just to run it. We decided the extra 30$ was better spent on a boy who outgrows a pair of shoes once a week.
So it lay dead until my husband and I could figure out how to set it up on a Linux box with a mock static IP, which we have done tonight. It's all free, thank god.
And again, I'd really love for you guys to come and check it out. I really want to see this mud alive again. And if nothing else, it's a fun place to come and talk!!

Pretty soon I will have a website up and I will post a link to that. I will put instructions there about how to log on and how to create your first character. For now, just PM me if you have any questions about how to get set up and I will be MORE than happy to help you.
