I've really haven't built anything more complicated than claptons or fused claptons. I only use kanthal. So far my favorites are 28/36 fused claptons, 24/36 claptons, or a 28 guage braided coil. I did recently get some ribbon wire, so I've been playing with that. I made a 28 guage parallel wrapped with ribbon, which is a really nice vape...could be my new favorite. Tonight I made a twisted 28/36 clapton wrapped with ribbon, but I haven't tried it yet. Still need some practice with spacing the ribbon better.

Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads.

I spent close to 5 days trying to learn how to do Fused claptons till I finally got it. Went through god knows how much wire. Once you get the hang of it, it does get easier.

If you were new to coil builds, let us know #WDYVT, i.e. what do you vape today (Pics preferred)
No building today! Sometimes you just have to take the easy way out. My eVic AIO that arrived yesterday has been my vape today. It's even nicer than I thought it would be. Using the SS 0.5 ohm coil, TC 480 F. It's great so far. Next up... the SS316L notch coil @ 0.25 ohm. :)

Coil building is much easier than I ever thought it would be, but I'd love to have one of these, to make it even quicker.

and one of these would be even nicer

I have a build kit put together, but this one is more compact, and would be really nice when traveling.

Finally we are there!! The 1st round ends at #111, the 2nd round starts from #113. Announce winner soon, come and play!
Phew........ only took us 14 days instead of 8 days.

C'mon everybody...........enter round two!! Congrats to whoever the winner ends up being

Today I built a tensioned micro coil for my Subtank Mini. It's 26g kanthal, parallel with twisted leads. 4 wraps/.24 ohm. These coils work really well for me. No pinching, squeezing to get contact. Perfect straight off the mandrel. I'm still practicing the parallel tmc. They're quite a bit harder than the single wire builds. The hardest part for me is twisting the leads without deforming the coil. Also, I try to build to the exact width between where the leads attach. This keeps me from having to bend my leads thus risking the integrity of the contact. This one is just a tiny bit too wide and you can see where I lost contact on the right lead when I attached it. But, better on the end than in the middle. :)

Lovely focus on the screw. The coil... not so much, lol. Photography is not my forte.
