1. I like the spring clamp approach, would be very interested in trying this out 
2. I consider myself a novice builder, though I've been 100% diy could for several months. My go-to coil is 2.5mm id twisted kanthal 26AWG, 0.4 - 0.5 ohms.

Well I'm personally not into the advanced builds myself. I'm happy to get a functional 1.3 ohm coil cooking in my antique Lemo rta.

I'm still primarily building simple single strand coils, mostly 26 gage kanthal or SS316.

Primarily vaping on a Merlin with a Notch Coil in TC mode, along with a couple squonkers with Velocity Minis, one with dual SS coils, and the other with dual Kanthal. I'm leaning towards moving to all SS builds, except for when I want higher resistance builds than I can easily get from SS.
