Thinking of making a trip to Phoon Huat...

Any cooks here can share some recepies using ingredients purchased from there?
Phoon huat you need to test out which flavours are water soluble and not oil based. I've tried oil based flavour it was bad. Gunked up my coils very fast. I have to change coils every two days.

Yea bought the Wilton VG, and some other redman flavorings (lychee, peach, green apple, strawberry, buttermilk, peppermint)...

Ingredients did not state if it was oil based though, but liquids are all clear...
Careful with the peach. It destroyed my plastic tank.

red dot is full of red tape

Hi Bro,

I bought Glycerin from ph @ Braddell but it is not labelled as "VG" seems to work, but I think it kinda make the entire liquid feel dry..
It's by the brand "Redman"

How much did the Wilton cost ? I will check out sims drive PH aswell..

Just checked out Glycerin - Wilton
seems like the Wilton VG it's being labelled as Glycerine as well..

from: VegetableGlycerin.com

" By expressing Glycerin as Vegetable Glycerin you are representing that the Glycerin is 100% Vegetable based. If a product is referred to as Glycerin, it still may be 100% Vegetable based, but may be a blend of animal fat based glycerol or the seller may not know the glycerol source. Both are pure."

so...
I guess I still use the "Redman" glycerine that I still have..
=)

I bro,
I've been to PH a few times and bought some flavourings,
I guess u need to look at the product label itself,
some are labelled as "flavouring", "essence", and "oil"

for eg, I bought "Butter oil" and of course it is oil based..
essence are generally not clear and I think they cost more and are less a suitable for DIY eliquid

I had seen people add fresh mint leaves into "virgin mojito" cocktails.
One day I shall attempt to soak small, cut up pieces of mint leaves in my juices.

You will get just a tiny bit of minty taste, but the overriding taste would be that of the "greenish", vege taste. Probably from the chlorophyll, I guess. The longer you steep, the stronger the " greenish " taste gets, and the weaker the minty taste gets.

But, I've only tried mint leaves in juice a couple of times before I gave up on it. So, you might have better luck. A word of caution, I know mint leaves in tea/drinks is fine, BUT for our purpose, I don't know. I guessed it was/is safe, hence I tried it just for larks.
