Okay so I have two vtc4 18650s and 2 vtc5 18650s and I carry 1 off each on me daily, one serves as my main and the other a back up in case I'm running late and can't get to my charger. What I'm wondering is if it would be safe to label them 4 and 5 in black shape so I can identify which one is what in a hurry? With the heat and all the chemicals and what not I wanted to know if it would be safe. Thanks.

I can't speak specifically to Sony Bats (don't have any) but I mark my Panasonic Bats on their labeling. I keep track of how long they are in use and how long they deliver power.
I try hard to avoid all Sony products after experiencing how helpful they are when you have problems with them (trying to fix a friends Sony laptop).

I do it....Personally I have not had any batteries get hot, perhaps lukewarm during charging. If they are getting that hot worrying about the chemicals off the ink is not what you should be concerned about:D But that said, if you need to identify one, just wrap a piece of scotch tape around it, grab the one that has the tape or the other one without.

I have all my batteries marked, and I go an OCD step further; I have them labeled with a Dymo label, and I track them on a spreadsheet. Probably overkill, but it keeps me busy!

You just opened up a whole new world for me....I need a way to keep track of my socks, now I have it...thanks!
