He’s coming for a spend the weekend visit!!! We’re driving over to Baton Rouge to get him this evening :banana::banana:. Busy washing a dog bed (an extra I keep for the grandpup) and trying to not get too excited in case we’re not a good match for each other.

    And, YOU... ;)

My cats are indoor cats. The only hunting they do is if a lizard or moth gets inside. Or the two little mice that snuck in once. Those mice didn't stand a chance!

Luna is also an indoor cat. A lil tiny mouse came in a few weeks ago. She stalked it for 2 days, waiting for it to come out from under the fridge. Eventually it did and she grabbed it.

She sauntered about like she was the king of the forest, with this lil mouse in her mouth. I stood hiding, up on my chair as I knew what was going to happen next ;)
She dropped it, batted it, picked it up by her mouth again, and of course flinged it.

Grateful she hadn't flung it at me, I nearly died laughing when her prey ran through the gap in the door outside

    Luna's reaction?

Carli's father Chico scored the highest ever in O.G. Bierstadt's history. Still true to this day. I couldn't recall the scores so I asked Angie who sent this file earlier.
    2009_Chico.jpg

Chico was AD, BH, SchH1, SchH2, SchH3 (4 times), IPO 3 (2 times), certified Police Dog. He didn't place at nationals.

In Schutzhund 300 is the potential. There are only two GSD's who ever scored 299 (Enno and his son Drigon). The only dog bettering that was a Rottweiler who had a 300 in the early 90's (Pascha Vom Hegestrauch).

Here is Drigon in Hannover when he scored 299. First video is obedience (100) and tracking (100). The second is protection (99).

Many of the top dogs worldwide score in the 290's. To score high they need lots of active aggression (fight drive), yet must be very trainable and also a thinking dog. It must be in their genetic inheritance going back generations.

ETA: Chico was always around kids and very loving. Active aggression applies to the "working" part of working dog.

Take lots of pictures. This might be his first night in his, hopefully, new home with his new family!

Mine have always been indoor only. But, lizards and geckos are abundant (to put it mildly) here and do sneak inside on occasion

He’s here for a test run! Catdog has already established her authority, but honestly, he’s not very interested in her. He’s super soft, an ace snuggler. No idea what his rogue papa was, but he’s got the rottie markings and grumble talking.... just in a small package. Around 40 pounds. Himself is smitten (so much for “this is going to be just your dog” lol!!!)

Mine prefer to torture inside, so they often ask to come in with squirming creatures in their mouths.

    They are denied entry.
Years and years ago when my cat was alive She once brought a rabbit twice her size home. She was a runt but still killed that poor bunny and tortured it. My mom called me at work crying and I had to come get rid of it. She almost got rid of the cat.

Toby could take on any cop dog. He doesn’t like cops at all dog or human.

Shadow is growing up! Hadn’t seen in in a week or more because he has a new area he roams in. But I went searching further and found him! He still came running as fast as he could to me when I called his name.

Sylvester taking more medicine. He likes to nibble on my fingers

@NolaMel You don't live too far from me. We have the same type of wildlife sneaking inside. My cats don't eat the lizards and mice, just the moths. I wouldn't think they'd taste better than a lizard but I'm not eating any to find out. ;)
Monk was fond of eating the green lizards. It was a great game to chase them around the screen porch or house foundation plants. I swear, my cat has zero killer instinct. She did ....*h slap Sammy this morning when he sniffed her.

    Rottweiler puppy?
Rottweiler and an unknown papa. Outside of not being huge, and having a bunny soft coat, he otherwise looks mostly rottie. He does that funny rottie grumble growl to talk to you too. I’d love to get a dna test to see what his other half is. Must be something athletic, he does a few high antelope jumps when he first gets outside, then goes straight into the zoomies.
