We did too. Chrissy's out skiing with Atti. I'm stuck at work but if I wasn't you'd be more likely to find me at the sauna than out skiing.
We are supposed to get a ton next week on Vancouver island. Hopefully Stevie comes home before that comes. We don’t get much snow here Mabye once a year but when we do it’s chaos on the roads. People getting stuck on the smallest hills and traffic backed up everywhere you go because of drivers not being able to drive in snow.
At least I got studded winter tires now which I’ve never had. They came with the truck although it’s still only rear wheel drive it should be better than my last truck with all season tires.

Should be golden man. A lot of people in my area underestimate the need/value in having winter tires at all, let alone studded. I consider them mandatory for an area like mine (and wish they were mandatory, at least non-studded winter tires) and would never drive without them.
Remember though, they allow you to drive slowly not quickly. Momentum is basically irrelevant, you don't need to worry about it. During our ice storm last week I had to go out and drive and I was able to drive as slowly as I needed to around corners and up hills on thick, glare ice. I do have AWD, but my last vehicle was not yet it was a total beast in the snow with the tires on it. It was FWD, not sure how rear will do so be cautious for sure. But I agree 100% it'll be better than your last truck with all-seasons.
I've literally never had a problem driving in the snow/icy conditions, ever. Except for whiteout conditions, which are of course horrible no matter what you're driving. But road conditions have never been an issue even when I had 2WD because of the tires. I swear by them.

The last couple snow falls we had here in the past few years cops were actually writing people tickets for not having winter tires when they were stuck. There was a small incline on the highway that people were getting stuck on left and right because they were going too slow. Cops then staked out that spot writing tickets to all the poor people getting stuck . What a way to make a bad situation worse.Should be golden man. So basically they are mandatory where I’m from.
I understand your perspective but if people drive (in an area like mine) without them, they put everybody's lives at risk on the road. 9/10 car accidents our FD responds to would likely not have happened if the proper tires were on their cars. That's a lot of accidents and a lot of volunteer emergency personnel hours that won't ever be retrieved. Quebec's accidents went down a significant percentage when they passed their mandate and I'd love to see that here, because for 6+ months there's snow and ice and it's often pretty bad out there. I personally don't care if people want to endanger their own lives by whatever means they fancy, but driving endangers others.
Doesn't make sense for your area at all though. Must be a BC thing but you'd think they'd excuse it in a mild climate like Vancouver
Plus we could cut down on all the salt NY uses on our roads which is killing our cars. People'd save money in the long run. I spent $1000 on new calipers and brakes last year because the salt destroyed them
But anyway, sorry, I have a lot of energy for people who live up here and don't have proper tires. Totally feel you though. Back to the bunnies. Seen Stevie today?
You kitty owners (or slaves), ever try the Slimcat food ball? I bought Zelda one a while ago, she loves it. But a friends dachshund chewed it to shreds. Zelda was not impressed to say the least. Just picked up another but it has been a good 3+ years since Zelda has seen one. Second I pulled it out of the bag she immediately recognized it and got all excited, purring and making those cute chirping sounds.
She has just finished chasing it, eating a small helping of dehydrated morsels of mostly chicken treats and is now yelling at me for more!

I get that I’m just saying that would be a bad day trying to get to work and getting stuck only to have a ticket for not having winter tires. I woke up and went to feed my bunnies only to discover my canopy I just bought to cover my area where their house is collapsed. It was secure it wasn’t the wind it was the pouring rain we had all night
I don’t know if I can fix it but I didn’t have time before work. It even blew our BBQ over right next to the rabbit house so the poor bunnies must’ve been terrified

Just prop up the tarp with a thick dowel rod. If you create a peak the rain should run off.
