Staying without a doubt! He’s a snuggly sweetheart

I love him already, but that face is :wub::wub::wub::wub:
His Rottweiler markings and big ears remind me of the Huntaway breed (aka Ike :D) that was developed over here. Maybe Sammy has one of the Pointer breeds in him somewhere - get your dna kit out scientist Mel ;)

He’s here for a test run! Catdog has already established her authority, but honestly, he’s not very interested in her. He’s super soft, an ace snuggler. No idea what his rogue papa was, but he’s got the rottie markings and grumble talking.... just in a small package. Around 40 pounds. Himself is smitten (so much for “this is going to be just your dog” lol!!!)View attachment 889487 View attachment 889489
    He is a lovely fellow.

I ordered a dna kit. Curiosity is killing me. His hind running gait and legs do look pointer-ish to me. (My dad raised them when I was young). Could be a little beagle in there?? No telling, but he does run a lot like a field/bird dog. The super soft, short coat has me stumped. And, he doesn’t smell like a hound, or have the guard hairs of a water/hunt breed. I just hope he’s not so much heinz57 that they can’t tell what he is lol.

I wanted to buy a new iPod at Walmart Friday night because mine is all run down and barely working. They told me they don’t sell them anymore only London drugs does .

Wonder why that’s so stupid I don’t want to have to use wifi or data on a cell phone.
My daughter took an old iPhone that was outdated (not hooked to cellular) and uses it as an iPod. Without all the other phone stuff on it, plenty of room for tons of music.

we did the opposite for my granddaughter and bought an iPod (older version and used) and gave it to my granddaughter (age 4) who always wants to borrow others iPhone to watch youtube video's. We gave it to her as
'her own phone' and she video calls me on it. As long as she is at a house with Wifi she has her own phone. (so she thinks)

    Heinz 57 are the greatest dogs. I'm not big into dog breeds, give me a mongrel any day of the week. They are WAY smarter. I mean don't get me wrong, big dog was lovely, smart and cunning. But she was often befuddled by the LITTLE dog who they caught living out in the desert at 2 years old and SURVIVING. He had clearly never been homed, and he was FERAL.;

OMG that dog is CRAZY smart, he had to be. This also led to certain.... situations. Like the big dog would pee and AS she was ...... the little dog would come "spry" on her. The dog would get this befuddled look on her face like "what's happening," as we would yell at the little dog, "WILLIS KNOCK THAT OFF RIGHT NOW THAT IS THE WORST FORM OF IMPOLITENESS!!!!!" Oh it didn't really fix the problem (nothing about poop or pee was ever gonna be rehabilitated with a that sucker) but it made us FEEL better.

I looked up Ike’s relatives. Sammy does have that look! He seems to be part kangaroo too, the height he can leap from a standstill is amazing. Maybe the Powers that be sent him to me with a bit of @Ricky Vapes bunny dna since I’ve admired them for so long. He has their soft fur and the babies leaping zoomies lol

Luna has bunny DNA too, she's got the softest coat out of any cat I've petted

My first thought with Sammy's ears and soft coat was German short-haired pointer. But he doesn't have the spots ;)

But, he does have their energy! I really wanted a speckled/ spotted dog. Most around here are pitts, or catahoulas (which aren’t kitty friendly). All that hunting and looking, and then Sammy just kind of fell in my lap. Not sure who picked who lol.
Luna does look super fluffy, cottony soft. She’s very photogenic

She's a good guard dog too. When she hears my sister/boss walking over, she growls and hides

Sammy is sooooo cute. I'm happy for he, you and himself. :D
Several posts back you said you were washing a bed for him. You didn't mention you washed your bed. Once I saw him there I thought "he's home". ;)

    Good morning ShinyChat's !!!
    Dogs_Cats_Cute_526780.jpg

We didn't go to bed until about 2:30AM. At about 3:45AM I woke up and very loudly said "let's get up and go watch the sunrise". I was met with a groan and pillows thrown at me. Several choice words too. We went. I enjoy the spontaneous life.

I see he likes orchids. Thinking you need to whip up some FLV Sweet Orchid. It's great with my vanilla recipe. Your flowers are very pretty. Love the roses.

If he's not barking up a storm I would think beagle is prolly not there. Beagles bark constantly. Sammy's legs are longer too. My neighbors had a dog that looked a lot like Sammy. He was a rotty/shepherd mix. Can't wait for the official reveal of the DNA results. :D

I did wash all our bed covers before he came home so they wouldn’t smell like another pup. But, I wash them weekly anyway.... fur, dirt, ya know. Our beasties have always been on the bed.To me, pet are family and I let them pick where they want to sleep.
I washed the cover for the giant memory foam bed. Putting the insert back in was like putting an elephant in a phone booth. Himself and Catdog sat there giggling at my struggles .Yeah, it hasn’t been used even once yet. He’s definitely a bed dog! Since he’s not so big, he fits fine. It’s been a long time since we had one stay in our bed all night. Monk always got in his bed once I rolled over to go to sleep. I moved the dog bed to the den, nope! He’s a sofa dog too. What can ya do?

I can’t wait for the results either. He doesn’t bark at all, not even when the postman rang the doorbell this morning. And glued to my leg, just watching him. The only noise he’s made so far is the grumble and a whine (sort of reminds me of Scooby Doo)
GSDs can have that same black/caramel, but he doesn’t do the signature head turn lol. That head tilt/whaaaaat? look is so freaking cute!
Himself said, what are you going to do if he comes back 100% rottie, and he’s not 2 but 6 months with another 50+ pounds of growing to do . Whatever he is, he’s cute.
