Well, after a nice welcome in the noob forum I was told by mr. psyc to make an appearance here post haste so here I am. I was sooooooooooo hoping my Triton would be here today so I could come strait in with my post-virginal vape out of the way <sigh> but not the case till monday. soooooooooooooo that bein said please by all means share your Halo wisdom with me, tips, sage advise, things to avoid as well as which two menthol flavs in my sample pack should be the ones i load up. Things know thanks to the Halon forum already:
1)mo water drinky is a must
2)dont hit it like an analog or i'll noob choke/sputter/ have a ... moment
3)keep ma tanks clean between refills/switchin juices

past that im'a blank slate and a dry sponge have at me!

You arent ready and most likely at this point have no need to start rebuilding your coils, but contained in this thread is a lot of knowledge about some of the mechanics of the device, which will give you some ideas of what to look for and what to clean if and when you have some problems.

Also seems like you already have a bit of an idea of not inhaling like it was a cig. Let me add to this. You want to treat the Triton at first like a cigar, mouth hits and maybe after it mellows in your lungs for a bit a shallow lung hit. The vapor of ecig is a much larger particle than that of cig smoke, so it wont get in as deep into your lungs. This means that absorbtion through the lungs is slower. Just remember that nicotine is skin absorbable, so it can come in through any part. I found in the begining that holding it in my mouth and a slow gradual exhale through my nose worked best. It does take a few minutes for the effect to hit you, so try to pace your "hits", so you dont over nic yourself.

This resource might give you some more insights;

Slave... When you do recieve your kit. Charge up the batteries, load the tanks, and then set it down and dont use it. Wait till the next morning. Try to take a nice relaxing shower the night before, and get a good nights rest. The hardest hurdle in making the move for a lot of us, is those first cigs in the day. SOOO try to go to the Halo device first thing, resist the urge to grab a cig. This is why I say you should try to save the device for the morning, fully charged and ready to go. It will help this way to start to break the pattern. The pattern your body is used to, your mind is used to, and your hands are used to.

And try to resist those cigs as much as possible, but on those occasions when the stress gets too much, we all have been there, and we all broke down and had a cig or two a day for a few weeks when we first started. So if you do, you are forgiven. Just keep track of it, try to curb it, I found that keeping a little journel when i first started helped.

Fallen, ton of awesome advice, I am def a must have cig morning person, so I never would have thought to hold off till the next morning EXCELLENT advice. The coil thread was also good, i missed that one in my lurking through the threads.

The inhaling technique was 100% from the Halo threads on here and likely saved me from a soopar sore throat and a buttload of choking lol

Welcome SlaveOne, Congratulations on the Triton kit. When you first load your tank let it sit several minutes (like 10-15) to let it start wicking properly. Know that it will take a few puffs for it to really start wicking GREAT!!

When vaping start your lite draw a second before you press the button and release the fire button a split second before you stop drawing. Your coil will last longer and you won't burn/caramelize your juice to the coil as quickly. I refill my tank with the same juice several tanks full before cleaning. :)

Menthols!! Woohoo I'm a menthol lover!!! Menthol seX is their newest flavor and if I had this flavor when I first started it would have been so much easier. :D It is a unique menthol I didn't think I would like but it is my top Menthol ADV.

1. Menthol seX - very unique deliciousness!!
2. Mystic - a nice balance of Icy coolness and fresh mint
3. Menthol Ice - More Icy coolness with a touch of fresh mint
4. Coolmist - More fresh mint with a touch of Icy coolness
5. Sub-Zero - Pure Ice that is so good it will clean out your sinuses.
6. Kringle's Curse - A cool crisp candy cane that is great for an after dinner vape. :)

Tastebuds change especially in the beginning. When I first started I would keep switching between all of these. :) I love the Halo Menthols also give Tribeca a try is it the number#1 flavor of all the juices and along with Menthol seX another ADV for me. :)

Welcome to the Halo Fam!!! At first, everything will seem a bit overwhelming but that's totally normal. Ask as many questions here as you need and someone will pop in to help you. Just remember to relax, take long slow draws and be patient. As you quit, your taste buds are going to go through a bunch of stages where juices may taste good, then bad then good again or vise versa.

Other than that, keep us posted on how things go!

Nah you don't have to wait, waiting is called steeping. some juices improve their flavour with steeping, most are great straight away.

OK Ms Evie is your Menthol seX, is that the bottle marked HX3 in my sampler???

menthol sex might not be in the sample tin, it's labelled menthol x

treat it more like a cigar... slow gradual pull, not like you are a nic fiend desperate for your jones to be filled.. and the flooding issue wont be so bad... also continue to suck for just a bit.. after the coil turns off or you release the button.. this will help stop the juice from condensating in the coil area.. and cut down on "flooding" or possible gurgle.
