Sorry to add a junk thread but I am hoping my GG friends in Portugal can give me a litle information. I have a registered package that was submitted to CTT 7 days ago for shipping to the US. As of this moment, the CTT site still shows the package sitting in Lisbon.

The US postal service received notice of it being registered since the 12th also but still no movement. I am not meaning to offend but I thought the US post was the slowest. Is it normal for a apckage to take so long to leave Portugal from anyone's experience or is it just a rare occurence?

It is my much awaited SS GGTS #008 so naturally I am anxious but no movement for 7 days seems a little slow. Thanks for any experience anyone can share on packages from Portugal. :)

Yeah how about a little truth in advertising? I'd like to redo some of the US carriers slogans:

Fed Ex: "When it absolutely must be there overnight" add Deliver it yourself...

UPS: "What can brown do for you?" add except get it there on time...

USPS Priority Mail: "A simpler way to ship" add No promises, no guarantees, just simply hope it gets there!

Thanks guys and yes Inq, I am hammering the USPS site often. It still says that they have been notified of a pending shipment but it has not yet been received.

And yes Dream, I hope so as well. I wouldn't have risked it had it not been #008 but I am also pretty well covered by the details of our deal so we shall see! I am used to working with seized/locked stainless parts from my years of gunsmithing so as long as there is no cross threading, I am not super concerned on that front. :)

Major,
I'm sorry I only saw this now :) It can't get lost, I keep the tracking receipt, so it will get to you in the end! I did use vaseline on all threads, but you might have to polish it a little better! I'm also sorry it's taking so much time to get to you, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it in the end!
If you need anything please feel free to e-mail me (should be faster then PMing) ;)
Greetings

Hi Aldo! :) Just to make sure, I know the package was mailed on time and you have the receipt. You sent me the number so I can track too. This is my frist package from Portual so I wasn't sure how long it takes. Also the details of our deal are more than adequate for us both I think so that isn't and hasn't been a concern.

As I told Dream, I am not worried so much of lubrication, only when threads are crossed. I can work with most issues but that which I am sure isn't the case. ;) And as for polishing it, it could look like a mirror and I still would polish it! It is what I do to all my shiny stuff - Try to make it shinier!

But thanks for your email offer. I kept your email of course but unless there is a friend of yours at CTT, I think we just have to wait! :pop:
