I received and email today from a ECF customer who was dissapointed at the fact that their order took 4 days to arrive. It is my desire to make sure that I do not have any disappointed customers, as a matter of fact, I will not sleep well if I know of a single one.
Because of this email, I would like to clarify and explain our shipping policies. As many of you know, we offer free ground shipping for any order 13.99 or higher. Our shipper is the United States Postal Service. Currently, no other carrier can offer us rates even close to what they are offering and from what I have seen it is safe to say many other suppliers are doing the same. The free shipping option means free first class mail up to 13 ounces or Parcel Post Select for packages over 13 ounces. Our shipments originate in the Buffalo, NY area which basically means your mileage will vary as far as transit times. First class can mean 1 business day in my immediate area up to 5 business days on the West Coast. I have tracked the last 100 orders that went out all over the USA and found that the free shipping option averaged 2.82 days to delivery. Note that unless there is some unavoidable circumstance, we advertise that all order received by 1:00pm EST ship the same day, although that is not in stone, for example today the last same day order shipped came in at 2:47pm EST. We diligently package and ship as many orders as we can right up to our 3:40pm USPS pickup time. Heck, I can't even count the times the mailman stood at the door as we were frantically attaching a label to a package on an order that came in late.
First class mail is a strange thing, I have seen orders arrive in 2 days that should have rightfully taken 4 based on distance. For people who are in a hurry for their product , we offer an option at the top of every single product page that upgrades shipping to priority mail which almost always gives a customer their product at their door in 2 business days. We are not greedy nor are we looking to make profits from shipping fees, so we offer this option no matter what the weight is for 3.99. The customer who emailed me felt that we should send all shipment priority at no charge, however, as much as I would love to do that, it is simply impossible. In this particular case the order involved 2 bottles of 250ml PG and a Syringe order total 15.47. The shipping weight was 2Lbs. which would cost us either 4.27 via Parcel post select (my contracted rate) or 10.15 via Priority Mail. Certainly (at least I hope) you can see that it is impossible for us to eat 10.15 on a 15.47 order. That is why the FREE shipping that we offer is ground shipping. If I receive a order that is substantial I will often upgrade it to free priority shipping on my own, however its not possible on a small order. I hope that explains things. It is my intention to offer the very best service and free shipping for small orders, however I truly hope that customers will be understanding of what the normal ground shipping times are.
