Shopping List For Rebuildable RSST This Weekend

I just received my RSST Genesis today and will be doing my first build this weekened. I have the tank, the kanthal, and the mesh, now I just need the tools. I need to know everything I need to buy. Here is what I have so far:

1. Phillips/flathead screwdriver
2. Toothpick
3. Tweezers
4. Nailclippers
5. Chef's torch
6. Wire cutters

What else am I going to need?

drill bit or screw to help wind your coil? and maybe one of those desk magnafier lamps? i atleast need the magnifier lamp so its easier to see.

Maybe some needle-nose pliers? I can't really think of anything else, if you have a Provari then that should work fine for checking the ohms.

Honestly, I would just invest in a good multitool like a Leatherman or Gerber. I bought one and could eliminate about 10 tools off my desk. Best thing ever.

If you get one of the jeweler's screwdriver kits with Phillips screwdrivers in it, it should also have a screwdriver the size you need to wrap the coil around.

They'll have more than you'll need. The quality is every bit as good as, well, not great, LOL! But my garage and race toolbox is chocked full of stuff (that I only use occasionally) from there. If I use the Harbor Freight stuff enough that it breaks I'll replace it with Snap-On or some other quality tool.

But yeah, they have inexpensive meters, tools, just about everything.

Yeah I was looking through everything just to get prices... and yeah you we're right, they're far better than Home Depots. Like I said, I have to go cheap for now, so if I can just get the tools I need to get through rebuilding the tank this weekend and saving the money, I am OK with that. I can buy nicer tools later.

The only thing you need a drill bit, (1/16" or 5/64") for is to drill out the air hole in the top cap... As to building the coil, it is done with the mesh in place and wrap your coil right around it on the RBA...

Welp I got most of it! Here is what I picked up:

• Fingernail clippers (for trimming wires)
• Compact tweezers (for fitting cotton into my dripper)
• 5" barber scissors (for cutting the cotton)
• Electronic repair kit (has tiny screwdriver heads and what have ya)
• 15 pc high speed steel quick change drill bit set
• 7" wire stripper/cutter
• 5.5" locking clamp (for when oxidzing the steel mesh)

I couldn't find the torch and to be honest, money is tight, so I have to do without it for now.

The stove in your kitchen works just as well, if not better!!! No torch needed!!!
