I did but let me rewatch it. Are you talking about this one?

I liked the Zen guy's video you showed, fantastic information, but I can get to that one I get the wick properly rolled and coiled. So I will come back to that.

Also there is a diagnol crease in the mesh. I have a big soda cup from last night sitting on the steel mesh to try and straighten it out. Is it still usable?

I've been rolling the mesh after straightening it out. It's much tighter and ALMOST fits in the hole, but I am struggling to make it any thinner.

Here is what I've done so far:

I just don't know how to make it tighter. I figured if I tightened my thumb areas around it to kind of grip the sides and roll it, but I ended up bending the mesh.

The width of the mesh is approximately 1.5".

rollit around a pin , or unfolded paperclip and the creases wont matter. they will sort themselves out, the tighter you roll it.
forgot about P.Busardo, he has good videos too....

keep rolling it in your fingers, it will get smaller....

or use your palms with light pressure, if your afraid of bending it.

overall for a first timer, its looking pretty good

your good, i personally think you went a bit overboard with it but it's no big deal...

Remember, the RSST has an insulated wick hole, this will greatly help against shorting, so you don't have to be thorough with torching, like you would with other tanks.

i personally skip the torching process, and use the "pulse method", but that is a more advanced setup. which you should try at a later date.

when you wrap your Kanthal, you want it to be snug against the SS mesh, but you don't want it to dig in into the wick.
run the flame of the lighter along the piece of wire, this will get rid of the springiness, making it more manageable during the wrapping process.

I did 4 wraps, redid the coil twice, and the ProVari keeps telling me "OP".

I looked at it under light, the wick appears to be touching the wraps everywhere.

Got it!!!!!! It just took a little screwing down the post some. Reading at 1.3 ohms right now. Redid the coil again and now at 2.0 ohms. It was pulling the wick in too close.

2Ω is good for use w/ Provari... Just bump up the voltage a little. Glad you got the mesh rolled. I was thinking you were rolling it in the wrong direction and that is why you couldn't get it to roll tight. You need to trim it off right at the top of your post height or a little lower so you don't short it out on your top cap though...

muzichead is right. dont be too worried about the ohms... that's where the provari shines... just up the voltage to taste.

my little trick. take that black oring off, and let the cap rest over the whole thing... measure the gap, and now you can see how much you need to cut off to clear the top cap... if that makes sense...

i like to leave the wick as long as possible, without touching the top cap... it gives me a little reserve of liquid so the wich doesnt try out too quickly...
but its fine if you just chop it at the top of the screw head, if you don't want to go through the trouble.

Buzz and I will have you vaping that thing sometime in the next millennium, for sure... Persistence is futile!!! I like to trim mine right with the top of the screw, that way I know there won't be any shorts. My first SS rope wick I thought was ok in length and come to find out it wasn't... Lesson learned, now I trim everything...

i've had that happen a few times, it its a gradual fade, i wouldnt worry too much about it.
up the voltage by 0.3V see if you can get them all brighter...

the coil will still need to "season" its self, and that will take about half a tank, so don't be too worried about it.

you may want to put a drop or two on there then fire it... there are on occasion pesky spots that show up after juice is added...

if there isnt... just fill and enjoy.
