Short Cirquit ?

Hello guys,
i had a <<small>> accident about an hour ago. i have mech mod with a dripper. I had it in my pocket and when i took it out it almost fell of my hand,i caught it but the safety lock was unlocked and the mod fired so as i caught it and the metal cap of my dripper touched the coil (because the metal cap almost fell off and i caught it but it fell from my hands also..) and i saw a small spark ! i suppose this happend for less than a second. My cousin told me the mod had a short cirquit. So when this happened i immediately removed the battery and i left it out for some minutes. But i noticed that when i took the battery out it wasnt hot. It was as warm as it gets when i use it ( but very little ! ) Is it safe to use the battery now ? When this happened i suppose the battery was at 25 - 30% of the capacity so it was not charged completely. i tested the mod after this and it worked fine.
I use an Efest LiMn 2500mAh 35A High Drain / C Rating : 14

Ok thank you guys XD i was just a bit nervous cause this was my first Mech MOD ( I own it for about 2 weeks ) One thing i am still curious about these batteries is the charger. The shop i bought the battery sold me an Xtar MC1 Charger. Is it good? (safe). Cause everybody tells me no no buy an expensive charger ! I am a total noob right now sorry -.-

The best way to know is to check the battery voltage on a meter. If you are using mechs and don't have a DVM yet you should get one.

If the battery voltage is still ok and you don't see any signs of physical damage from the drop - like a dented negative terminal - then it will be ok to use it. But if it actually shorted a lot longer than you think and the voltage dropped to near zero - put it in recycling. The only way you can check that is with a meter.

Xtar makes great chargers! Also, what was the resistance on your build?
Single coil 0.9ohm

Well i see the battery it hasnt any physical damage its the same as the day i bought it. I charged it at night and i used it today again and it works fine, same as yesterday. I suppose if the battery had failed it would work at all. It didnt vent ! Also i didnt see any damage on the atomizer too.

---UPDATE---
Hey guys i measured the voltage from the battery and it shows 3.99V. I removed the battery from the charger about 5 hours ago. I used my mod for about 50 - 60 puffs i guess? maybe 10 more :p So i suppose the battery is ok right ?

Yeah thats a good battery a little low on the charge but your charger may charge on the low side.

4.11-4.2 is where most batts are after charging and your meter calibration may be way off.

xtar chargers are one of the better brands on the market they used to sell out so fast ya couldn't buy them when they were on sale unless early to the buy..

video on yt where a guy purposely vents batteries and none of them exploded or had a life threatening severe meltdown. This was a controlled experiment with copper slugs to short them and unless you buy the worse batteries made we're pretty safe. They have been known to explode but its very rare like winning the lottery, he tried over many batts and not one of them exploded they did vent just no explosion.

Here's the video
