I am using Panasonic batteries, with the short stop in it compresses the spring all the way. Should I just not use the short stop or does it matter since the Short Stop takes place of the spring compression as a safety feature?

I have wrecked the firing pin on my grand before and i don't use one for just that reason - it squashes the spring to within an inch of its life. Instead i make sure my atomisers have no shorts religiously - i test them on a little box and then on another mod and then measure them on a multimeter. Only then will i put them on my reo!

Paranoia? perhaps! But if you saw some of the dogs of coils i used to make you'd understand!

i do yeah, but what a hassle! just make them right to start with! I expect my grand to fire first time every time with minimal interference and effort from me - seems only fair i treat it to a decent atty on top - that's as well made as i can manage.

I am sly - i use one of HRH's mods to test my stuff, after all - she is happy stealing mine!

I just seen this thread, these batteries were considered safe when I got them almost 2 years ago, now there not. I have never had any issues with them. But then again up to this point I have used very few mechanical mods. They are just gonna have to do till I can spend about 40 bucks to get AW IMR batteries. Those batteries seem to be the ones that never change.

Just FYI, I'm using the AW IMR 28650 2000mAh batteries in my grand, AND a shortstop. Even with the shortstop, there's still plenty of room for the spring to compress if needed (that's IF you insert them with the nub facing down, into the top of the spring). Backups to backups ya know.

(And yes, I know it needs a bath, but I'm basically lazy :) )

You cant beat this setup I love the idea of protection as long as you have some coil left . With a aw 1600 mah this would be even better thanks for sharing
