I had just put my Maraxus Ironman clone together with an efest purple IMR 18650 3.7v 35a 2500mah battery and an Kanger Aerotank 2ohms. I had already tested it once with an identical setup. As soon as I touched the fire button I burnt my finger it was so hot. I quickly disassembled everything. And let it cool. After cooling I tried that same battery in my Vamo worked fine tried an identical battery in the Maraxus and it worked fine. Tried the battery from the earlier setup it worked fine. I did notice the battery had a small section about a millimeter by two millimeters were the purple covering had torn off. Could this have shorted out the battery or is it possible I overtightened the Maraxus since it is telescoping. Going to just use the Vamo for now. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

They say to check your batteries before installing them and one of the things to check for is torn coverings so i'm assuming that might be the situation. I know when it comes to batteries i wouldn't risk it. If it were me i'd get a new one and dispose of that one.The exposed part of the battery could be touching the tube of your mod causing it to short and get hot. Safe vaping is important my friend! VAPE ON!

With most APVs and mech mods, the outside of the tube is the negative part of the circuit. If your battery were shorting from that, it could definitely heat up the switch. I agree with Zamazam, you need to make sure the battery is covered. If tape makes the battery too big to fit in your mod, there are companies online, or even a local hobby shop, which will have shrink wrap so you can re-seal the battery. This should prevent any future mishaps. Good luck and happy vaping!
