lol I actually looked for some stacked button cell ones but nothing that would last more than what you said (3 vapes)
the cr123a is still too long unfortunately. I found this really cool flashlight that would be an awesome looking mod but it's sooo short that there's no room for it and the connector & button too

you can look though batteryjunction.com for some short cells. Watch out for unprotected cells though.
There are these 14250s, but they're not protected. You would have to add circuitry to protect them.
Current consumption on atomizers is about 1.5 - 2 amperes. I am not shure that you can use these batteries safely...
Yes, that's exactly what you can do with them. Though, you probably wouldn't be able to go too low on the atty resistance or too high on the voltage. They have somewhat limited drain. But still, for the compact size it would be perfect if you normally use a standard resistance atty around 5V. Switching regulator would be a must to keep current draw down. The OKR-T is just the ticket for that with its compact size.
