I read this:
''Short doesn't always occur in the atomizer, test the unit itself as well. To do this with a multi-meter, take out your battery, with one probe touch the positive pin of the mod and another on the body. If the meter shows any kind of resistance, it means the current is flowing and you have a short somewhere.''
Could somebody explain this to me please. Am cool with building and battery safety but I don't understand this. Finally want to start using my mech tomorrow but better to be safe than sorry. Thanks

In the OP you are trying to measure the resistance between the 510 pin and the body (ground) of the mod. Set your DMM to the lowest resistance scale, then touch the meter leads together. The meter should read 0 ohms. This will verify that you are reading resistance. Now test the resistance of your mod as stated in the OP. If the mod reads anything other than open your mod has a problem.
