Should I be worried?

hi, I left my eleaf Itwist Mega for a day in a basket for pens which has a metallic bottom... can short circuit occur in this type of situation?

ps. the batt had no atomizer connected and it was on "on" position

No, it's fine. I feel like I should say more but there is no way that it could short out. You could set it on the hood of your car with an atty on it and it wouldn't short out.

You are fine. The outside of a mod that uses the mods casing for current(don't think this one does even), is only half the circuit (negative side). You could hold the mod against that ^^^car hood^^^ while firing it and still be fine, the current is going to travel the path of least resistance back to the battery.
