I bought the blue foam at the pet store (size U) now im uncertain of the size to cut.
Do i make it the same size as the filler that comes in a cart, or do i make it a little bigger? Also, how many drops do you usually use to fill the blue foam the 1st time?
Thnks!

You'll have to tinker with it, how your foam/filler performs is in large part dependent on how thick your liquid is, so what works for one, may not work for another. That goes for your juices too, one might wick differently than others.

Hi Medusavamp - I use the blue foam. I cut mine maybe an 1/8 inch longer than the cart and about the same width as the cart.

The first time you fill the blue foam the liquid will kind of stay on the surface of the foam. You'll need something to poke the foam to get the liquid down into it. A toothpick, pin, needle would work. Keep adding drops and poking until the surface of the foam glistens -

You'll know when it's too full, cause when you vape you'll hear a gurgling sound. If that happens, take a paper towel and blot the end of the cart.

You'll also know when it's time to refill cause the vapor production will diminish and you won't have the flavor. Take the cart off and look at the foam - it will look dry.

Once the foam is "conditioned" you won't have to poke the foam - just drop some liquid on it and you're good to go.

The method I used:

  • Cut the foam about 1.5 times as wide as the opening to the cartridge, and just a hair longer than the cartridge is deep.
  • Drop fill the empty cartridge until it's about 2/3 full.
  • Insert the foam with a pair of tweezers - slowly - compressing it and letting it expand like a sponge. It'll soak up the fluid.
  • Poke it down until it's just flush with the surface of the cartridge, then put another drop or two on top of the foam. Let it soak in.
When you put the cartridge on the atomizer, line up the long direction of the atomizer element with the long direction of the cartridge opening. Vape and enjoy.

I cut mine in a square. It'll look like a cube...only it'll be half as thick as it is long and wide. ( Hope that makes sense.) It's about 1 and 1/2 times the width of the cart opening, and "long" enough to go down about halfway into the cart. Then I fill the cartridge about 3/4 (or more) full, and insert the blue foam "plug" with tweezers (because I squeeze it together to make it fit.) Then I take my tweezers and push it down into the juice and then pull it back up (dunk it.) Then it's ready to vape. I've used these for months and they continue to work the best of anything I've found. They allow me to put LOTS of liquid into the cart.
