I really like the the black satin Provari Mini but I am nervous about it getting scratched or the paint wearing being that I am most likely going to be putting it in my pocket when I go out of the house with it. I'll try not to have anything else in my pocket when I do place it in there but the reality is that will not always be the case. I may have change or even an occasional set of keys or pen. I don't want to spend the extra $20 for the black to only realize that in a week the paint has rubbed off or scratched off some how. If that is what will happen I rather get the satin silver even though it is not my first choice. Can anyone please help with some of there knowledge and or experience. This post that attached that I read kind of scared me a little:

if you do get black, and it get's scratched, i've seen pics where someone sanded all the paint off except the tear drops and it looked veerrryy sexy. i got silver cause it just caught my eye and looks better in person.

I've had a black satin Provari V2 for 5 months now. Carry her everywhere with me, in my front pocket most times. I've dropped her more times than I care to admit once breaking the quartz glass of my Z Atty. Not a scratch anywhere, finish looks as good now as when I bought her. Don't know what kind of paint they use but whatever it is it's durable as hell.

Have you put it your pockets with anything else like change or keys. If anyone else has had a colored provari let me know your experience.

I just got a black one yesterday & was a little concerned about the finish durability too. But after running it thru its paces & seeing what kind of machine it is I'm no longer worried about it. This thing is built like a tank & I fully expect it to outlast the finish. So if/when it gets scratches, dings, wear marks, etc in the finish I'm just gonna see it as adding character. It's a hoss.

I've had the satin blue since last summer. It's often in a front jean's pocket if not in my hand. I have a habit of resting mine on my lap while driving. A few times I've forgotten that it's there when I get out of the car and it's hit the pavement. Not a scratch or ding to the paint. If I took a magnifying glass to it I'm sure you could see scuff or scratch marks, but why bother with that.

Bottom line is the Provari is one tough PV and you shouldn't get overly concerned about dings or scratches. It's finish is as good or better than any other PV's.

Provaris receive 3 coats of Cerakote, from what I have read. It's tougher coating than most other PVs out there. You are paying extra for the black because the silver is standard color that Provari does.

Here is a video on the toughness of Cerakote: Cerakote Taber Abrasion Test (ASTM D4060) - YouTube

I have owned the silver for two months. I have been careful with it, but not perfect either. I have not scratched it once. The silver is nice, in fact with my Cobra RBA and now Twins I have a very streamlined silver look. I did purchase a wrap from Vaporskinz.com, not so much because I am worried about the finish but more because I want to customize my Provari and change it up from the silver.

yes my Black Provari sits in my front pocket with keys, my glasses at times, change, all sorts of things. No scratches as of yet.
How long have you had your Provari and was it painted using the same Cerakote process the use now? They might of always used that process. I just don't know. Thanks
