Your MVP is fully capable to do rebuildable coils, without resorting to getting a mechanical mod just for that. You just won't be able to do sub-ohm builds, and you shouldn't start out with those in the beginning anyway.

Once you have been successful building your own coils and find it to your liking, then make the decision to buy a mechanical. Also look into micro coils as an alternative to sub ohm builds - they are far safer and have less requirements for special batteries.

Also consider cartotanks as an alternative to clearomizers for more flavor and vapor. Cartotank Setup Guide

A micro coil is not an alternative to a sub-ohm coil.
A super-ohm coil is an alternative to a sub-ohm coil.

A standard, wrap-spaced coil is the alternative to a micro coil.

A micro coil can be super-ohm or sub-ohm.

A standard coil can be super-ohm or sub-ohm.

A sub-ohm coil can be a standard coil or a micro coil.

A super-ohm coil can be a standard or a micro coil.
