I agree with ejoker. It really depends pretty heavily on the flavor tbh... Fruit flavors are generally good out of the mail but do get better with a week or two. Coffee flavors are also much like that... It's the tobacco flavors that will really shine after steeping a while. Best advice is exactly as ejoker gave. Try it out. If you don't like it, let it steep for a bit. It will get better. :p

1 Backwoods BacKo (Strength: 24mg)
1 Backwoods Brew Applewood Tobacco (Strength: 24mg)
1 Backwoods Honey Flue Nut Tobacco (Strength: 24mg)
1 Backwoods Malty (Strength: 24mg)
1 Backwoods Waffle (Strength: 24mg)

I suppose joker was right... If I were you, I'd try all of these right out of the mailbox. The Backo, Applewood, and HFN will take time to steep before they really reach their prime. I like Malty right out of the box, but that one definitely changes too. I dont have a whole lot of experience with Waffle, I'm a tobacco guy : )

Just keep in the back of your mind that they need time to steep... so, don't be too quick to judge or give up on a flavor just because you dont like it immediately!

How do you steep ejuice? Take the cap off and let it sit? How long? Thanks for the tips.

I don't take the caps off.... I've tried it, but didn't really notice any difference... I leave the caps on and just let them sit for 2-3 weeks. I shake them every few days when I remember. You really cant do it wrong. Theres really no set rules, just preferences. Try them every-so-often and see how they taste. If you think they're ready, vape them! If you like it out of the box, vape it!

I guess I dont understand steeping. Doesnt the juice usually sit around the place its made at least a week or two before it even hit the etailer, and then possibly even more time before it gets sold and into my hands. Why would letting it sit at my house make a difference. What is it in the juice that causes it to "mature"? Do the etailers and the manufacturers (if they are different) keep the supply in a cool dark place also? I guess Im just a little confused and would like to learn and understand it better.

Don makes the juice to order. When you get it, it's probably only 2-3 days old (they have born on dates on the labels). I'm assuming that the available amounts that are listed on website means that he has enough supplies on hand to only mix that many orders. Whiskey can clarify this for you, I'm sure.

To give you an example of why steeping is good, when I got an order of the Virginia, it was almost as clear as water. After a two week steep in my medicine cabinet, it had almost an amber lager look to it, and the flavor profile totally changed. It went from "Well, this is kinda OK" to " ZOMG, this is the Nectar of the Gods!!!!".

Waffle and Pear, on the other hand, are badass from day one. I didn't need to steep those at all.

Ok, thanks for the replies. Im not neccasarily skeptical or anything, I just didnt understand. None of mine have seemed to change any over time so far but Im not positive I would notice or know what to look for. I have not ordered from the company your talking about though GhostPirateLeChuck so maybe what Ive bought so far is different in that regard.

Yeah, some vendors pre-make theirs, or order it from another company (like the bottle that came with my eGo kit). There's nothing wrong with that, but they're nothing spectacular.

Backwoods Brew is the place where I learned about steeping, and I'm glad I did. The juices I've ordered from Don are like fine wine. They just get better with age.

Shucks! I just went to order from this place and it seems they are out of the office for a while. Thats too bad. Im almost out of my one and only juice I like. I figured if I ordered today I would get it in time to still order my normal if I had to. At this rate Ill just have to buy more of my normal and then buy some from Backwoods Brew when they get back. Im looking forward to it, Ive been unhappy about every flavor Ive tried except for just ONE lol. But thats ok, if I dont like it I just send them to a friend I have across country who cant afford to buy flavors to try. Either way, they always get used. I really want a better flavor though.
