Should I pull the trigger on the Aspire Nautilus?

I've done quite a bit of research and from what I have observed, it's feedback is stellar across the board. As I have currently started out, my gear is a tad modest, and I'm dubious as to whether or not the nautilus is a much of an improvement. As of writing, I'm rocking the Pro tank II on a standard evod battery and have a few evod bcc's in rotation. I have tried the nautilus before but only briefly and in passing, so I cannot speculate it's capability with my setup. I have an iTaste MVP en route to my house (omgomgomg) and just don't know whether or not to pair it with the Nautilus. The only concerns I have at this point would be how expensive the coils are, and how long would they ask, as well as the price tag. I've spent more on vaping this month than the past two months smoking, but hey, it's a hobby AND harm reduction right

Owners, feedback would be greatly appreciated !

Go for it. The Nautilus is a stellar tank (IMHO) - great vapor and flavour, plus air adjustable to dial the tightness or looseness you want.

If you held one, you know that it's not small - way oversized for your evod bats. It should suit your MVP, though, but it would be a tad top heavy.

The coils last about as long as most other clearo coil units - I get about 2 weeks with mine, vaping 70-30 PG-VG lighter juices. Replacement cost for the units is coming down as with most gear.

Good to know, man, thanks. The AA is an interesting element to me. If my understanding is correct, it can tighten or loosen the draw? My only complaint with my PT is that it feels too "airy." I can compare it to smoking a filtered cigarette. As a man coming from unfiltered/RYO, I'm seeking a tight, punchy draw. Any reason to invest in the nautilus over the ProTank Aero? Price is somewhat of a factor, but I upgrade a lot so I'd definitely consider the extra $$$ if it keeps me ahead of the game.

First off, I'm not an owner, so take my words with caution!

I was about to pull the trigger on the Nautilus. Saw a pretty good deal going on over at Vapor Joes. I also did a ton of research and saw that it got great reviews all over. I literally had it sitting in my Cart and I couldn't click the 'Next' button; my analytical side was at work. There were a few reasons why I didn't pull that trigger:

First and foremost. I have a Protank 3. It has had its standard problems with a little bit of leaking here and there, but all in all I can say that I'm happy with it. The reason why my having a PT3 is significant is that Kanger has recently released the Aerotank's Airflow Control Valve as a separate piece to throw on the PT3, and the Aerotank has gotten just as good of reviews as the Nautilus has. Yes, the 5ml tank on the Nautilus was really tempting, but I figured I already have a makeshift Aerotank, so I should be okay.

Second. The coils. I rebuild all the coils for my EVODs and am slowly learning to do the dual-coil rebuild in my PT3 coils. I did a few Youtube searches on the Nautilus atty heads being rebuilt, and only saw 1 video I think. I guess I am just comfortable with my rebuilding skills with Kanger so I will stay with them for now. In addition, I see that a 5pk of Nautilus coils is currently going between $18-25. Yikes. Those will certainly drop in price with the time though.

Third. The darn ugly tank. I mean, the tank looks fine, but Aspire had to go put that huge logo across the entire thing. I think it really kills some of the simplicity that it intended to provide. There is actually now a SS tank replacement for the Nautilus (which would tie the atty together, erase the ugly logo, and also cut out your broken Pyrex tank fees), but that costs an additional $22 and has been in and out of stock day to day recently.

If you do not rebuild your EVOD/PT2 atty heads and you do not mind initially buying a 5pk of coils for ~$22, definitely pull the trigger. It has gotten such great reviews and, if it is anywhere close to the Aerotank (which I have read it is a bit better), you'll absolutely love it.

:2c:

Your points are extremely valid are definitely in line with my analytical side. I appreciate your feedback!

I noticed the air valve was available online as well, rendering a pro tank into an aero. Considering I haven't had any MAJOR issues (aside from filing it up, which once I noticed what I did, I REFUSE to divulge ) with my Protank 2, maybe I should invest in the air valve! It's temping, to say the least. What I found extremely offputting, even-so it's the at the forefront of my pro/con list, is the price of the coils. I'm on a strict budget and if I keep going crazy with vaping, I'll end up spending more than I did on smoking!

I guess I just prefer the idea of the evod coil packs over the aspire coils. I'm a heavy vaper and with the new gear, I can only assume it'll get worse... I don't wanna burn through the coils!

Decisions, decisions....

Well, If you choose to go the route I went:

Kanger Airflow Control Valve Pro tank II-III-Aero - Avid Vaper

It's $5 plus shipping = ~$9. Every single review I see about this thing is positive. The majority of the reviews even go as far as to say they will not vape a PT again without one. If you do get one, you can at least still buy the cheaper PT2/EVOD coils. The only thing you'll be missing out on it the 5mL tank (it's becoming more apparent how much I really like that tank!).

Lol, that option is definitely looking beneficial! What can I say, I am frugal by nature. Perhaps I don't need the nautilus, but as with everything, I want it a lot more than I NEED it. I think I'll order the air valve this week! Thanks guys :)

It's definitely understandable. I just dropped $200.99 on a DNA30 that was definitely a WANT item; but the way I see it, I'm probably not going to NEED another device for a reaaaally long time now! hahaha ;)

I'm just happy to be free of smoking. I may have spent a lot more on gear recently than cigarettes, but at least I'm comfortable knowing I have new toys, a better habit, and an ever improving quality of life :)

And that is what matters! Think about way further down the line...imagine how much those medical bills would have run you... ;)

I have had the Nautilus for a few weeks. If you are into rebuilding I would say forgo the Nautilus and get something like the Kayfun Lite or Russian 91%. Yes they are more Expensive; however, they are very cheap to maintain coils (DIY) and the performance is outstanding. Blows away the Nautilus. Dont get me wrong the Nautilus is a great step up...but it left me desiring more after about a week.
