I have been vaping for about a year now and never had a problem. Recently I have had tightness in my throat and it felt like my lymph nodes where slightly swollen. This only happens, to the best of my knowledge when I use my vaporizer. I have quit. Its not worth vaping if I feel this ....ty every time I do. The question is has anyone ever had a similar problem? Do you all think I should go see my doctor?

Never had the problem. Sure hope you feel better soon. Absolutely you should see your doc. Don't know about it being related to vaping since you stated you quit and are sick. Whatever the reason you obviously need medical help. Be well.

PS. This post should be in the health thread. You'll get much better feedback there.

I am sorry if I wasn't clear about it. I only feel this way when I vape otherwise I feel fine. I did an experiment where I didn't vape for a week and see what happened. I had no problems what so ever. Then I vaped and it happened. It goes away after a couple of hours but its really weird considering that I never had a problem before. Thanks for your concern though I am fine currently.

It sounds as though your immune system is overreacting to something.

It could be an allergic reaction to PG or VG or a flavoring. Did you have several flavors and did it happen with all of them?

I would think if you are fine when you don't vape, and you're okay with giving it up, then don't be concerned; but if you'd like to continue vaping and try a process of elimination, then you need to have someone near you who can bring you to the ER because some allergic reactions can go anaphylactic without warning.

Have you changed flavors, vendors, strengths lately and noticed this happening? Are you or have you been using PG base juices?

I would venture to say that you have acquired a PG allergy or possibly one to the flavoring. Nic is also a skin irritant...that's why I asked about the strengths.

Do you have any juice that is 100% VG? If so, is it still happening?

Just attempting to narrow down the culprit if it's vaping related.....

I am not sure if I am using PG or VG but I usually only vape menthol flavor from the Red label Totally Wickd E-liquid. I have been known to branch off into cherry and vanilla but mostly menthol. As I said I am willing to give it up, nicotine never really seemed to get a grasp on me as I have went plenty of time before without vaping. I just can't decide if this could be something serious that I need to address and see the doc (which I really don't want to) or if its just a weird reaction that is nothing to worry about. Anyways thanks for the quick replies. I have always lurked this forum but never became a member until now. Glad I did.

Yes, this does belong in the Health Section. But wait!! This is their very first post!! They can't post anywhere but in the New section. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

With that in mind we should try to keep this from turning into a troll fest...

Not a troll, though I understand where you are coming from. I am just looking for some advice and this seemed like a very good place to get it.

That was a thinly veiled warning for the trolls to stay out of this thread. You've got 5 posts, so I'm going to move the thread after I see your title change. Once that happens you'll be able to reply in forums other than new members.

Doctors treat allergic reactions or sensitivities first by eliminating the source if possible. That's what you did, and now you are okay.

If you'd like to continue vaping, I would order a 100% VG with menthol only. I would have someone with you when you try it, and have some benadryl on hand, and be ready to go to an ER at the first sign of a throat-closing feeling. It would be rare for that to happen with 100% VG though. It's probably a PG sensitivity like hairball suggested.

I have a friend with allergy issues and he seems to be allergic to the flavoring. He is able to vape unflavored and is searching for a flavoring that he does not have a reaction to. So maybe you could try unflavored to see if the reaction is the same? I feel like flavorings in eliquid would be likely culprits for having issues.

Ok well maybe in the future, If I ever feel the urge to vape I will try that but for now I think I'm going to focus on being a little more active and healthy. The e-cigs have done their job they got my off analogs and didn't hook me like analogs did, and for that I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks for all the replies I will update and let you know if I this continues and I decide to see the doc.

Just for encouragement, a friend of mine switched to e-cigs and really enjoyed it. Two months later (while slightly drunk) he lost both of his ego's. A few days later, before he had a chance to get another set, he realized he didn't care that he wasn't vaping (or smoking). That was almost a year ago, hasn't had nicotine since.

I think your choice is right. Quit vaping. See the doc if you feel necessary. Don't concern yourself with what others might say.
