Should I slow down if my tank gets hot?

I'm using a kanger protank 2 with a 2.2 ohm head (usually between 3.6 and 4 volts. I really love making big 'ol clouds but sometimes the bottom of the tank and the "beauty ring" start getting pretty warm after a few quick hits.

Does this mean the head is getting old or am I just going to at it too hard? Or do you think I may need to up my nic %?:vapor:

How many hits is a "few"? If your taking puff after puff back to back then you'll definitely start warming things up pretty quickly.
Up your nic % ? Do you ask this because you are thinking that the reason your puffing so many times is because you're not getting the amount of nicotine you desire? If you want more nicotine then you can definitely up the %. What is your nic % at now?

I agree with fisheeboy. Sometimes, when I get a nice juice, sitting back, reading the Ecig forums, I tend to chainvape. My "chainvape" device is an AGA-T2, and the top cap will get quite warm sometimes. That's why I have a second setup wtih a higher nic content juice. I'll take a few puffs and then put the other one down until it cools off just a bit. A higher nic content is really useful when you find yourself chain vaping, it tends to curb that habbit.

your voltage range sounds about normal for most people, that's about where my wife vapes. When she is stressed she can create a good bit of heat on the tank. As long as that heat isn't traveling past the beauty ring you should be okay.

As for your nic % it all depends on if you feel comfortable or not. When I started I was at 6-8mg using close to 10ml's a day. so I upped my nic to 16-18mg and was closer to 5ml's a day, which was more reasonable for me. Until I started on the slippery slope of rebuildables where im down to 12mg and about 7ml's a day. So it really depends on you personally if you are going to up your nic try getting a sample bottle or 5ml bottle and see how you deal with it.

Nicotine can kinda be funny stuff. You may decide to bump it up a notch and then all of the sudden start feeling sickly and headachey. So the suggestion to try a 5ml bottle is really great advice. I only use clearomizers for now and I vape 36mg which is pretty potent. I know that when I get into RDAs I'm gonna have to drop my nic level.

36 mg?!?!?!? my "high" nic level is 12mg. :) reg is 6mg. 36mg would just burn. :) but, to each his own. Be careful.

I have found that on my Evod I can get them pretty warm. Running 4.5v and 2.2ohms. Most of the time it's cause I take long 10+ second drags but within a pretty quick succession. I was a fast smoker so the habit carried over. I haven't noticed any damage or dry burning from this, but once I feel it in my hands I'll get up and do something for a bit and return.

I was a fast smoker too. I do get to chain vaping sometimes.

If you like to chain vape, I recommend lowering your nic, not increasing it. :D

How old are those coils? They need to be cleaned regularly or they'll choke on all that gunk that accumulates on them, especially if you vape sweet, dark, heavily flavored ejuices ot NETs.

Also, like other pointed out, it's always a good idea to have more than one PV going at any given time. I have at least two or three in constant rotation.

Last but not least, check your vaping technique--take slow, long drags rather than quick and sharp ones. Your clearomizer overheats when the coils don't get enough eliquid to cool them off.
