Okay, I will close with this, then. It sounds like you are in a fair amount of misery right now, and despite all the pros/cons presented here, you are an adult, you DO get to choose if/when you want to try and vape, and you can make that choice for yourself, whenever you want, there's no one here that's going to recommend vaping, nor prohibit it. Only you are inhabiting your own skin right now, and if you want to try and vape 0 nicotine *whenever* that's up to you. It may help, it may do very little, but it sounds to me like you want to try it, and it's not prohibited, so if you feel the need... That is totally within your rights to decide, *without* feeling bad about it.

I dont want to smoke a cigarette but I want to smoke something, I dont know how to explain it:lol:, like something to hold, inhale and pass time with it, but definitely not cigarettes.

Oh, you don't have to explain it. That's why many of us vape.

If I felt like someone was stabbing me in the chest with a pen and I was literally suffering, you can bet I wouldn't find posting on ecf anywhere near the top of my to do list. C'mon man!
^ Would be the last thing on my list. Hope everything gets sorted out with the pain, and if it were me, I would try to keep up the cold turkey and not start vaping because you might be tempted to go from 0mg an then 3mg then you are addicted back to nicotine, but that is just my opinion and what I might do.

Doctor said my lungs and heart are absolutely fine, turns out my muscles were sore.
I'm still skeptical about vaping, I'm about to finish my 5th day, ill be honest I feel fine, yes i get the urge to smoke form time to time but I ignore it. I feel really exhausted and sleepy all the time though

That's Great to Hear Ali.

And Day 6 should be Better than Day 5. So just keep Doing what you are doing One Day at a Time.

Yeah I'm trying to be honest with myself, yes i smoked for 2-3 but this is not the same as smoking for 10 20 or even more years.I don't want to sound mean but maybe people who smoked for such a long time actually need a vape, but 2-3 isnt much compared to others, so i ask myself do i really need it? this is why im so uncertain about the whole topic. the sudden change before my exams has made unable to concentrate in anything, but no excuses.

No, you are correct. The longer you do it, the harder it is to stop. Conversely the quicker you quit, the easier it is to stop. My hope is that you quit smoking without vaping. If you do vape though, then I'll give you all the advice I
can.

JMO. But It's kinda a Double Edged Sword.

If a person hasn't smoked for Very Long, like yourself, it is Easier to Quit. Much Easier. But unfortunately, the Desire to Quit can be Much Less.

Whereas when someone has smoked for a Long Period of Time, it can be VERY Hard to Quit. Even though one's Desire to Quit can be Tremendous.

After 2 or 3 Years of Smoking, I kinda wanted to Quit. But I was Young and Bullet Proof. And just Never Did. And Later, when the Cost started to get High, I said I would cut back and then Quit. But I never seemed to worked.

Then, Towards the End, I had to Quit. Because Smoking was taking a Toll on my Health. But Cold Turkey Didn't work. Neither did Nicotine Gum. Or the Patch.

Long Story Short. The Longer you Smoke. The Harder it will become to Quit. Better to Turn Off that Road Now while you are Taking College Classes. Then to Quit when you are 2 Years away from Retiring from Teaching College Classes.

Like Me.

Keep it up! Glad your health is fine. I have cold turkey smokes many times and I hate it, cold sweats, can't think, angry at everyone ect, it is a challenge many non-smokers truly do not understand. I commend your resilience, day 5 is great.

I'm glad you are OK too, Ali, and congrats on deciding to do it the way you are. You're correct, vaping will be there but it's best to try and tough it out.

Did you say you had ADHD, too? I can't remember.... If you're still going through the quitting process, and finals will impact that, it *may* be worth asking your doc about options so you aren't freaking about being able to concentrate also. It may be as simple as a temporary bump in your ADHD med (though, I am not a doctor) if you're feeling completely overwhelmed and having trouble paying attention. The exhaustion and brain fog are temporary conditions, they will absolutely pass, and optimally you'd have the opportunity to lay around and relax, but you *don't*. So if it gets debilitating, you could check in with your doc, or just power through.... My kid was *just* quitting *vaping* he has ADHD and I hadn't seen him that cranky since he was a toddler, though I was perfectly happy to be the Mom Sink into which he discharged all his ire upon, LOL. Normally not, but I was totally sympathetic at that juncture.... Nicotine's a bit of a brain organizer, not to mention all the cigarette byproducts.

And, GOOD for you, for finding a place you could find out about vaping, as well as asking well thought out questions, to make an informed decision-- You're awesome and I wish you all the best :)

Anna
