I have been vaping for over a year now, and have been completely analogue free in that time. I started off with an M401 (from east mall), replaced that with another M401 (from truesmoker) after the batteries ended up dead (my fault for not knowing how to clean them at the time), and was happy for a good while. Now I seem to have lost my ecig, and am in need of a replacement. My problem is two-fold:
1. I started off with Johnson's Creek VG non-nicotine juice, and got myself a large supply back in Feb of 2009, which I didn't run out of until a few months back. In Sept, when I had run out of menthol, and a couple of my favorite flavors, I put in another order and got a rather nasty surprise: they changed the formulations on me, and not for the better (I never expected to vape to the flavor of NyQuil). I have been running through a couple of various e-juice suppliers since, and have become rather disheartened. I haven't found anything that produces anything close to the throat-hit and vapor I first experienced with JC's VG, and most places I've come across don't offer non-nicotine. Any recommendations? I'm getting a bit desperate.
2. I was wondering if the throat hit decline might be due to a decline in the M401 performance after being used for a while. If so, what's the standard life for M401s, and are there any decent mini alternatives? From my research so far (and I have been a forum lurker on and off for approx a year and a half now), I'm still reading that the M401 is one of the better minis. I am looking for something affordable, durable (good track-record against failing parts) with a good throat hit, and (call me old fashioned) but somewhat similar to an analogue cig, at least for an outdoors primary.
I am considering a mod for later, but I can't afford one now, as well as a mini.
