First off the service with esmokershop.com was great. Spoke with Brandon several times through his live chat via the website. Just overall what you would expect great service.
So I ordered 2 of his 401 kits, and a few spare parts. At the time I did not know that there was a "different" 401 model. I thought they were all the same. After testing a few of the DSE401 parts with the M401 parts I quickly realized some parts do not interchange. So below is a break down.
DSE401 batteries will work with M401 atomizers.
DSE401 Atomizers will not work with M401 batteries (the m401 batt's bottom out without making connection)
Brandon will have to check with his suppliers, but I am pretty sure the DSE401 batteries are using a pnuematic switch v/s the M401 using the electric switch. Both have plus's and minus's. The M401 switch can literally be activated by a good fart while the DSE401's do not have the same problem with noise and wind activation. The M401 series seem to have a slightly easier draw than the DSE. It is somewhat of a trade off. I personally like the DSE series a lot better. Makes for much easier commuting and you can listen to your radio as loud as you want! The battery life is excellent on both, but I am getting a little more batt life from the DSE series (maybe because it is new). Anyway, just my take on the DSE401.
One other thing. Not sure why, but the throat hit from the DSE series is wayyyy better than the M series.
Edit: seems as though some people are not having problems with parts interchanging.
