First off the service with esmokershop.com was great. Spoke with Brandon several times through his live chat via the website. Just overall what you would expect great service. :)

So I ordered 2 of his 401 kits, and a few spare parts. At the time I did not know that there was a "different" 401 model. I thought they were all the same. After testing a few of the DSE401 parts with the M401 parts I quickly realized some parts do not interchange. So below is a break down.

DSE401 batteries will work with M401 atomizers.

DSE401 Atomizers will not work with M401 batteries (the m401 batt's bottom out without making connection)

Brandon will have to check with his suppliers, but I am pretty sure the DSE401 batteries are using a pnuematic switch v/s the M401 using the electric switch. Both have plus's and minus's. The M401 switch can literally be activated by a good fart while the DSE401's do not have the same problem with noise and wind activation. The M401 series seem to have a slightly easier draw than the DSE. It is somewhat of a trade off. I personally like the DSE series a lot better. Makes for much easier commuting and you can listen to your radio as loud as you want! The battery life is excellent on both, but I am getting a little more batt life from the DSE series (maybe because it is new). Anyway, just my take on the DSE401.

One other thing. Not sure why, but the throat hit from the DSE series is wayyyy better than the M series. :)

Edit: seems as though some people are not having problems with parts interchanging.

not true, I have no problems using the M401 atomizer with my the DSE401 batteries. I can also use the DSE401 atomizers with my Smoore M401?Piolt/EVO batteries. I can interchange all the DSE parts with my Smoore M401/Pilot/EVO parts with no problem. The DSE batteries has a much harder draw than the M401 batteries because the DSE401 batteries are the older pnuematic switch. Also the DSE401 is only two hole atomizer, and not a 4hole like the M401 style. I use my M401 batteris an the DSE401 atomizer all the time, and only use the DSE401 batteries when I go out to a loud club.

Well wish you lived closer to me so you could work your magic with my M401 batt and this DSE atomizer! My M401 batts DO NOT work with Brandon's DSE atomizers. Just tried it again and I am pretty sure I can screw a battery and atomizer together correctly. Brandon confirmed that someone else has already let him know about this also. Maybe your DSE atomizers are different. :)

I give give it a try with all my batteries, I have over 22 different batteries from Smoore M401/Pilot/EVO. The ones that I have tried have all worked. The M401 were the first batteries I used on it once I got it while I charged the the DSE batteries for 8hrs. I never use the DSE401 batteries unless I know I am going to a club, I hate the hard draw.

Let me test all my Smoore M401/Piolt/EVO batteries right now of the two DSE401 atomizers. I will let you know in a bit.

Hey kaeo, Brandon did say that some are working some are not. The M401 batteries that I have are from PS (pilot) and 1 of them is a intellicig 401 mighty atom. I have tried all the batt's I have here (6) and none will work with the DSE atomizer. The DSE battery is working fine with all the DSE atomizers and the M401 atomizers.

I guess I got lucky:D: I just tested both DSE401 atomizers on (2) EVO normal size (2) EVO atoms (6) Pilot 401 (2) Pilot 402 (6) Smoore M401 (4) myfreedom smokes batteries, and they all worked.

The thing is you have to draw harder with the DSE401 2 hole atomizer, as opposed to the M401 4 hole atomizer.

I found the only way I like the DSE401 is if I have the parts interchanged. I feel with the DSE401 as a whole, you have to suck too hard for me to like it that way. So, I only use my M401 batteries on the DSE401 atomizer. If I use the DSE battery, I make sure I have a 4 hole M401 atomizer on it.

I think esmokershop should see if the DSE401 has a 4hole atomizer, and that would make it a much better.

I am sorry you can't get your batteries to work, and my only guess is that I might have a different version. All I can say is that all my M401 batteries work with the DSE401 atomizer

So maybe I have one of the few that is not compatible. Brandon mentioned that someone else had problems too, so I dont think I am the only one. Maybe it was just one box or something. :)
You weren't the only one. I had problems too, the atomizers appeared DOA and would't work with my m402 batts.

I solved my problem by buying a USB passthru from Brandon which fit his atomizers fine. I was in a market for one anyways, so it works for me. I'm glad I ordered the black atomizers (my others are white), as now I can identify them from my others for their respective uses.

Either way, Brandon has been really attentive to the issue.:)

Thanks for letting me know. Thought I was going crazy for a minute. Also Kaeo what rubber seal are you reffering to?
