Hello, I am a non cig smoker but I [edited]. My friend's friend that I hangout with sometimes always has his vape and its shaped like a box with a mouthpiece on it. I like taking hits out of it and blowing awesome clouds. I would like to get one of these "boxmods" and start vaping but I wanted to know if you can buy juice with no nicotine in it (because I just like to do it for the flavor and clouds)? Also, is vaping this juice worse for me than [edited]?

Okay, sorry for the drug references guess I didn't see that. I do like the head rush you can get from vaping, I assume you only get this from the nic? Would I get addicted to nic if I were to use low strength juice just to get the head rush? What would be a good vape to get if I want to blow decently big clouds with a good density but don't really want to replace things often or build stuff myself very much? Thanks.

If you're not currently a nicotine user, I don't see why you should start. That being said they do make some good tanks that have pre-built coils you can buy without building things.

I will repeat don't start nicotine if you are not a current user. No point. Most all of the people here were cigarette smokers looking to get off of them or at least replace with a healthier alternative.

Just my 2 cents

+1 on what @Denvap0r said.

You are only getting the head rush because your body is not yet used to nicotine. Once your body acclimates the head rush goes away. You then have to raise your nic to get the head rush again. Viscous circle. There comes a point (in very short order) where nicotine won't give you that head rush anymore.

Most former smokers who now vape don't get head rush from vaping no matter what their nic level is.

Okay I will not start on nicotine lol. Could you give me a suggestion, somewhere to start off looking and what I should look for?

There are plenty of great juice manufacturers that all make zero nic juices. If you live in a place with vape stores go in for a taste test and see what you like. Most of them use zero juices for tasting. And maybe this might help you not smoke the other stuff too. At least gives you the full lung feel and the throat hit you might be craving.

I personally build all my coils and have been for over a year so I wouldn't really be able to help with the best pre-built sub tank stuff. I do know there are some good ones out there though.

Okay, I will look around and do some more research. Is there anything else I'm going to have to replace often besides the juice? If anyone else has a suggestion or recommendation, please share.

Being brand new to vaping, you're going to want to start with a tank set-up. It's the lowest maintenance way you can go - and you really don't want to start with an RDA until you learn more about it. With the tanks, you'll have to replace coils in it when they burn out. Also, you'll probably want a low maintenance "mod" to start - something like the iStick 50w where the mod itself is the battery - you just charge it. If you buy a mech mod (one of the tubes), an unreuglated box mod, or a regulated box mod (where you have to use external batteries), you'll have to buy batteries and a charger to go along with it. And you'll want backup batteries so you always have a fresh, fully charged battery (or batteries) to swap out in your mod.

Your best bet is to go to one of your local vape shops and tell them what you're trying to do. If they're any good, they won't sell you a setup you don't need or aren't ready for.

Juice and coils.
If anyone else has a suggestion or recommendation, please share.

Here are some options:

Batteries

1. iStick 30 watt
2. Coolfire 4 (40 watts)
3. Kanger Subbox (uses a replaceable battery - Samsung 25R is a good one) - includes a tank
4. MVP 3.0 (30 watts) or MVP 3.0 Pro (60 watts)

Tanks

There are so many. In many cases (using subΩ clearomizers) the tank/coil you use (for best performance) depends on how high your battery goes (in terms of wattage). High wattage vaping will *DRINK* your juice. Many members report going through 20+ mls/day when vaping at 50+ watts.

Here are a couple that perform well at 40 watts and lower.

1. Innokin iSub (polycarbonate tank) or iSub G (glass tank). I've heard the polycarbonate DOES NOT crack when using tank cracking juice.
2. Kanger Mini Subtank (can use stock coils or can use the rebuildable base that comes with it).

the Delta II sub tank works well at 40 watts and lower as well - you just can't really see the juice level clearly in the tank itself

Yea, I have one and it is hard to see the juice level and I have to use a syringe (or a pointy nose bottle) to fill it. Both drawbacks, BUT it vapes well and you can purchase a "rebuildable base" for it. A "plus" for it.

Yeah, works really well on my iStick 50w - I've noticed the sweet spot for the Delta II is between 25 - 35 watts so it makes it perfect for the iSticks and what not

Thanks for breaking this down so easily! Now I looked these up and just from looking at them, I liked the Kanger Subtank Mini, Kanger Subox Mini Black Starter Kit, and Innokin MVP 3.0 Pro. The iStick 50w isn't terrible but not my first choice. Which one of the three is best or does it matter?

I don't understand why anyone would want to vape that does not smoke. I was a 50 year smoker, and this was a lifesaver for me. but I also tell my grandkids not to vape. It is a habit just like smoking. This is just my opinion. Good luck with what ever you decide.

IMO, sounds to me like you want to vape for all the wrong reasons. It's much cheaper to get a head rush by standing on your head for a few minutes  However, if you do choose to start vaping go for it! I'd suggest though that you use a 0mg juice. Just make sure your vaping budget doesn't dig into your "other" budget ;)

Pretty much this, the rush you're getting is from the nicotine which will go overtime as you become used to it

Honestly I like the head rush that I can get from it or hookah but I want to vape because the clouds are awesome lol and I love the great flavors my friend has gotten like a cinnamon toast crunch one.

It's hard to say which one is best as both companies are well respected.

The Kanger Subox Mini goes up to 50 watts the Innokin MVP 3.0 Pro goes up to 60 watts. Small difference.

The MVP has an internal battery (good for ~300 full charges). Eventually, the battery will die and you will have to replace the whole unit (not just the battery).

The Kanger Subox Mini Starter Kit includes the Kanger Subtank Mini (in black).

The Kanger Subox Mini Starter Kit takes a replaceable battery. This may be a plus or a minus depending on how you look at it. When the battery dies (and will no longer hold a charge) you just replace the battery not the whole mod. Although you can charge the battery when it is in the mod, it's much safer to have a freestanding charger. Get the best charger that you can reasonably afford. Statistically most battery incidents occur while charging. Pila, Xtar, and Nitecore Intellicharger are the most recommended brands.

If I was looking for a 2-bay charger you might consider this one:
