I have only 40ish super famicom games but I do have secret of mana, super metroid and the entire slew of FF and Dragon warrior. One of my fav carts is a super famicom cart with FF1 and FF2 enhanced.

The finished work. Customized the cabinet for a 19" monitor. PC and X-arcade stick installed. Running M.A.M.E. (Multi Arcade Machine Emulator) with around 7400 Roms (games).

I have spent 14 years in the emulation scene and spent a long time building this collection of full complete sets with screenshots. Working of configuring a frontend (HyperSpin) but am having trouble with customizing for so many Roms.

I won't even get into my collection of Steam games or other classics like generation 1-current, most of those I now have Rom dumps of to use on the same machine :) Good times!

what was the cabinet from or did you build it yourself? I have been wanting to pick up a cheap cabinet to convert as well.
My most beloved piece of gaming hardware is my 1984 2 seater pacman coctail table (in our bar). I wrote an app a while back to take the mouse cursor and assign it to a joystick (for a multi-emu machine a friend was working on). when there is no full screen emu running the joystick works the mouse cursor. first button left click and third button for right click. Holding the middle put it into "scroll wheel" mode. I distributed it under GNU so I am sure you can find it somewhere. His project was called Emu-All, maybe that will help locate it. It did allow him to no longer need a mouse for his cabinet.

That is a great piece of work!

Thanks :) That is actually an old Double Dragon cabinet that I modified, didn't take much tbh. I would love to convert a cocktail table next that is such a classic style. I do remember Emu-All, though I haven't played with many other emu's in a few years. The reason I've been working on a frontend is for a more seamless look to boot up, but honestly using this:

Amazon.com: Lenovo Multimedia Remote with Keyboard: Electronics

...has worked wonders, I love the piece and the trackball works wonders for games that use it such as classics like Missle Command, Marble Madness and Centipede. It is an easy conversion, I had an old 1.8Ghz Dell with a 40gig HD and 4 gig of RAM that I just dropped a clean OS install on, then fed all the necessary drivers and dropped Mame and other Emu's and Roms onto. The most work came in rebuilding the cabinet to take a 19" CRT. Next upgrade, 2 Top Shot lightguns, and I'm still trying to brainstorm a way to put 2 holsters on the side of the cabinet to hold them. Good times and cheaper than you might think :)

That's a very impressive setup. I'm having a bit of a hard time not being more pleased by your name, though. Do-wah-ditty!

Hmmm ... Ones of interest ...

Grim Fandango
Monkey Island 1-3 (not that I don't have 4 and '5')
Maniac Mansion & Day of the Tentacle
The Dig
Loom
Full Throttle (notice a trend? :D )
Gobliins! 2
Simon the Sorcerer 1 & 2
Discworld 1 & 2 (other than Grim these all run on ScummVM)
Baldur's Gate Trilogy (a mega-mod that merges BG1 + BG2 & ToB, a flawless all-time great)
Daggerfall
Civilization 2 + 4 (with Legends of Revolution mod)
Battlegrounds 2 (a CS:S revolutionary war mod)
Day of Defeat (not source, was an alpha and still addicted when I have time)
Team Fortress Classic
Half-Life Source
Battlefield 2
Deus Ex
Grand Theft Auto 2
XCOM: UFO Defense

just to name the PC games I keep on all my compatible Windows machines

And if I get off the PC it's Mario Kart 64 of course

EDIT: I almost feel bad for leaving out Sierra: King's Quest 5 & Space Quest 6! And even worse, I forgot Fallout 1 & 2

The discworld books are fantastic! I was able to walk through the games with ease (I have all the DW novels and alot of spinoffs like the nanny ogg cookbook, Ankh-morpork almanac and travel guide, discworld companion).

I think you would really like Return to Zork and Zork Grand Inquisitor. Both would fit that list really nicely and should be cheap by now. Can probably grab them from a classic games IRC serv. I did notice no diablo/DII/LOD in that list...blasphemy! XD

Maybe you can hit up a cabinet repair place and scavenge an old wild gunman cabinet. If not, they always have broken shooter machines and would part with a couple of the metal gun holders pretty cheap. Alot of the newer shootes run a cable through some squared steel tubing to a stand that holds the guns and start/pause buttons. One of those would be killer! you could keep it to the side when not needed, but break it out for some nice gunplay!

With ease?? 1 had me pulling my hair out a bit (in the best of ways) my first playthrough! I love discwork, too. Have you read any of the science of Discworld books? I've gone through ~80% of Pratchett. I started by listening to the unabridged Isis Audiobooks and later accumulated a small tree's worth of Pratchett pages

Hmm, I've never looked into Zork - Thanks for the heads-up! Diablo 1 does have a small spot in my gaming heart; it was the first game I started making Trainers for :D It was my introduction to reverse engineering, starting with a hex editor to modify weapons and graduating to pretty much destroying the online gameplay  (not a good thing). It's funny to look back on; Diablo is probably responsible for my career! It led me to hacking and now I thwart teenage hackers. I did really like the first act of DII but I don't really go for hack-slashers and always put it down by the middle of Act II

Since my first post in this topic I've been getting back into CS:S on a cs_assault only map. Nowadays I like just getting accused of cheating instead of doing it :2cool:
